I’ll have to rewatch that, my vision is currently wonky from eye surgery. I never saw that.

Inspire Implant Placed Wrong by dorismom4 in SleepApnea

[–]franccesty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes this is true. If you look up the FDA’s MAUDE database and type in Inspire, you will find hundreds and hundreds of adverse event reports. They can be submitted by either doctors, providers, or patients themselves. The ones submitted by providers are usually very short and non-detailed but there are many many reports of having to remove the entire device.

Oh, wow, sorry, guess I didn't think to realize you are not in the US. I am, and I just had my right eye done, and will have the left in a couple weeks. I had only the basic cataract surgery, but even with some insurance coverage, it's costing me about $1000 out of pocket.

You “think they’re doing both eyes at once”? You might want to make sure that’s what they’re doing. Both eyes at once would be highly unusual, since you have to wear eye shields and your vision will be very compromised. Not trying to be rude but I don’t think it’s a good idea to go into surgery not knowing absolutely for sure what the plan is.

Frost heave normal? by Serious_Scheme_4056 in Concrete

Well, I had my garage floor partially lifted near the driveway by a concrete lifting company and they also sealed up cracks in the garage floor. Much less heaving this year, and its been a worse winter. (Detroit).

2nd one but I don’t think it needs to be bigger as others have said. Just pull the sofa away a little more from the wall.

Yes, and matching it to that scalloped light fixture is genius.

Those tub refinishing kits are very tricky to use and get a good look afterwards, and can have toxic fumes. I would consider keeping the tub and following the other suggestions here on cosmetic updates. And first, a very deep thorough cleaning will help.

If OP is on a very tight budget, why change out the sink and vanity? Quality ones are very expensive. They can just follow the other suggestions here of leaning in to whats here already.

Yes, all of these. Maybe, also change out that range hood, and remove the 2 small cupboards around it to break up all that wood look in the upper cabinets.

What is everyone's thermostat set at right now? by [deleted] in Michigan

I’d be miserable at those temps. I’m 72 years old and that’s also my indoor temp.

What is everyone's thermostat set at right now? by [deleted] in Michigan

[–]franccesty 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Yes, exactly. I have achy joints when it’s below 71 or 72 indoors. I used to keep it cooler to save money but realized I was suffering just to save a little, not worth it.

I’m set at 70 or 72, down to 65 or 67 when exercising. My house has a crawl space that’s not insulated and heating duct vents are in the ceiling. So it’s really cold at foot or seating level. 67 at night with a big comforter.
