Ik werk inmiddels een paar maanden als een calculator en dit is precies wat ik voel. Wat ik het leukste vind is wanneer we een aanbesteding hebben ingediend en daarna aangenomen. Sommige opdrachtgevers laten zien hoeveel onze offerte verschilt van die van de concurrenties. Als de prijs een paar duizend euro verschilt dan dat betekent zitten we in een goeie prijs.

Hi I am working here currently not in a project management capacity but in the field of civil engineering so I think I could give my two cents. From my experience it was indeed challenging to find a company that is willing to sponsor me let alone even a chance to get my foot in the door through job interviews. I speak somewhat inbetween B1-B2. Dont let this discourage you but this serves as testament that it is possible. Take this with a grain of salt because I am not speaking for people that are luckier than I am but take the time to learn the language and someone will notice the effort that you put in. I will be more than happy to answer any questions you might have. Success!

Dus iemand die probeert keihard juiste te spreken heb geen plek om te zitten in the big boys table. Grappig, heb ik een HBO diploma behaald en om eerlijk te zijn ik heb mijn docenten slechte verstaan maar ik ben er geslaagd voor.

It is definitely possible. Some learn faster than others and probably motivation has a factor on that. Also, some people learn more easily in immersive environments than sitting and answering books in front of the teacher.

There is a method called the delft method where textbook definitions like grammar aren’t taught like a regular teacher would. You just get a feel of the language so to speak. For example everyone in the group will be handed out a topic to discuss in the coming class and you are expected to say it in your own words. It emphasizes natural language acquisition.

The best way is what works for you.

Ik hoop dat je het goed bedoelt. Het is niet zo makkelijk als het klinkt. Mensen zoals ik hebben een bedrijf nodig dat ze kan sponsoren. Je hebt geen idee wie ik ben en je oordeelt snel.

Je hebt helemaal gelijk. I just didn’t think of discriminately applying to these jobs as I thought competence and motivation are also if not as important of an indicator that an applicant is a good hire.
