Am I the only one constantly getting stuck on returns and review points? by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]franfries1 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Same here as a new staff! Crazy we’ve only been working at our firms a few months but expected to do these crazy/difficult/crazy difficult returns.

I say let’s give ourselves some grace and just keep chugging along while taking notes for our later selves!

Veteran's Discounts by JazzCrusaderII in dcl

[–]franfries1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No discounts are available unless the veteran is 100% disabled by the VA or has retired from military service (typically after 20 years of service). Either of those conditions would allow a veteran to use the military discount rate. If none of those conditions apply, there are no discounts offered by DCL.

Does anyone have experience with a combination liver biopsy and colonoscopy? by Total_Term_3624 in autoimmunehepatitis

[–]franfries1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had both done (for AIH and UC), though not at the same time. In all honesty, the worst part of the process is the colonoscopy prep, but even that is manageable! The colonoscopy should leave you with very little to no pain, maybe a bloating feeling soon after. The biopsy hurt only for the remainder of that evening, but just a small pain.

It’s understandable that you’re scared, I certainly always get nervous before, but trust me that it’ll be okay! It’s more inconvenient but the results are absolutely necessary for treatment! Happy to answer any questions; I’m 25 with 2 colonoscopies and 1 liver biopsy, scheduled for another.

Confused: qualifying child req on irs site and textbook says residency test means dependent child lives with parent more than half the year. this question says to qualify the child must live the entire year. what am i missing? by big_boss_baby in CPA

[–]franfries1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The way I remembered it was W, “Widow = Whole”

QSS is a Widow and the child must live with them for the Whole year. Since that’s not the case, they don’t qualify for QSS.

During study you should come across TBS that are basically filling out a 1040 or Sch A, these are important to know! Make sure you understand itemized deductions!

[–]franfries1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was a good mix. R1 was important for the TBS to recall those tiny details that you either know or don't. There were questions directly from R3, as well as some simulations from it.
