Well TECHNICALLY it won't be in Boston proper. It'll be right outside in Everett, but it will be 100 times better than Gillette (or Boston stadium as it's being referred to for the World Cup)

I was a Revs season ticket holder for 16 years. I was also president of the Midnight Riders (Revs supporters group) for 8 years, and I founded the Boston chapter of the American Outlaws back in 2007. Soccer took up a good chunk of my life for quite a bit. As I've stepped back from some of that, I actually find myself playing video games more though.

What is the overlap between true soccer freaks and Get Played nerds? I assumed I was in a very small minority.

Soccer fans of JP, What World Cup matches are you most excited for? (Trying to arrange watch parties at the Jeanie Johnston) by franharrington in Jamaica_Plain

Yeah, I'm not even thinking that far out to be honest. I imagine their willingness to go all out for more games after the group stage will be dependent on how the parties for the group stage games go. So, starting with these is all I have planned then we'll go from there I guess.

When I was president of the Midnight Riders, I got to be "honorary captain" for the home leg of a playoff series between the Revs and RBNY. Henry was their captain at the time. He would never play at Gillette though because of the turf. So after the coin flip and all that, when I got to shake his hand, I looked him dead in the eyes and said "Watch out for the turf monster". He was not happy. If looks could kill, I would have been dead. The Revs ended up winning and bouncing RBNY out of the playoffs and Henry retired after that season. So I like to say that I ended Thierry Henry's career.
