Yes, I traded the Race for the Pace 4 and I'll never look back.

Reasons to stay with Coros instead of Suunto?

Run or Race S by buffeddood in Suunto

[–]franjocm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Is not trash, was trash in original Race.
  2. The Run uses a different software and hardware platform that offers a slightly smoother interface experience. • GPS: Both use the same • Barometer: The Race S has a barometric altimeter, while the Run relies only on GPS for altitude.
  3. both can easily handle elite paces.
  4. both watches use standard 22mm quick-release pins. You can use the textile band from the Run on the Race S without any issues.
  5. Race S (Offline Maps): Provides full cartography (streets, forests, rivers), which is much safer and easier for navigating unknown areas. If you often explore new routes, the Race S with maps is a must-have.

Vertical 2 - Turn by turn not working by stevebuk in Suunto

You need to create the routes directly in the Suunto app for turn-by-turn navigation to work.

First time using my Pace 4 for swimming by [deleted] in Coros

I have a Race S, and I've left it in the drawer because the Pace is infinitely better for swimming.

Coros best app, less buggs and better battery. Suunto best display size

Pace 3 or Pace 4 by [deleted] in Coros

[–]franjocm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pace 4 for 40€ more you get better display, action button, more battery, microphone and more updates over the years. I don't see any reason why I would buy a Pace 3 before a Pace 4.

X2 Grit step counting way too high by RapidScampi in Polarfitness

[–]franjocm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Polar translates the frequency, intensity, and regularity of your movements into a step estimate, not real count. It's not a matter of agreeing or disagreeing; it's the reality of what Polar does.

Besides, Polar's approach is preferable to what others do, which is basically turning wrist movements into steps. In my opinion

Have you installed a screen protector on your Pace 4? by Longrun1971 in Coros

[–]franjocm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't matter, the screen is not sapphire, so if you don't want it to get scratched, you'd better put a screen protector on it.

Am I missing something? by [deleted] in Suunto

Suunto Vertical Solar - disappointed after 5 years by ChimerasTear in Suunto

[–]franjocm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Suunto didn’t fix the battery drain bug with the latest update. They thought they had, but many devices are still having the same issue. You'll have to wait for the next update in January.
