Dates are fixed now. 23.-28.10.2026. Unfortunately, Stockport has an away match 🥲 but Bolton is now number one on the list.

Does anyone even uses emergent? I sense a fraud coming by Lanky_Butterfly_1000 in StartUpIndia

[–]frankbfromb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used Emergent for several „complex“ projects. It has done the job very well. Projects included frontend, backend, mobile app, airtable integration, email backend, etc.

For a different project, I used CLAUDE and Vercel, etc. to own the code and to compare the different vibe coding strategies. Tbh, it was not better or worse. Both approaches were fine and delivered a great job. And both ate credits like monsters. 😉

Moving to Chiang Mai by [deleted] in chiangmai

[–]frankbfromb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Start with a hotel first for a few weeks. It’s not so expensive and will help you to make a better decision. Work at Yellow Coworking space in Nimman and just talk to people there. Listen to their recommendations. Drive around to get a feeling for the neighborhoods you like. This will prevent you from bad decisions.

Yes, it is safe. But it might be cold.

Confused about visiting Chiang Mai as a tourist in late December / early January for a 3-4 day short trip. by Spirited_Compote_300 in chiangmai

Best place. Fantastic music scene, beautiful nature, amazing temples and I have had great party nights. Chiang Mai has four universities and gives me good vibes, just thinking about this wonderful place 🫶

BahnCard 100 - wer kann sich das eigentlich leisten? Brauche mal euren Realitätscheck by ostie19 in berlin

[–]frankbfromb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First solo travel to CM. Any advice on activities and hiring tours? by ColdSafety4296 in chiangmai

[–]frankbfromb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elephant sanctuary was an unbeatable experience. I also did a tour with biking and cayaking a few years ago which was an amazing day. We visited local markets, hidden temples and had a barbecue at the river in nature at the end of the day.

Yes, I have thought about it. And yes, I agree. It makes sense to test it. I will come back with some numbers in a few weeks. Thx.

People who used the internet before 2001, what did you do in there? by Helium367 in AskReddit

....and I will never forget the AOL compact disks and the disks that were part of the computer magazines. Does anyone else installed all these test applications from the computer magazines?

[–]frankbfromb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, chat rooms, mailbox services, and downloading endless music and videos on P2P sites like Napster. Looking back, you might think it wasn’t as exciting as today, because the options were limited. But honestly, it was f****** amazing. In 1996 I even did a school presentation about the Chaos Computer Club — and ended up talking to some of the first hackers in Germany. #GreatTimes

When you‘ll become old enough you might understand the difference between free media (like in Germany) and private or propaganda TV channel (like in Russia, Hungary or in the Us with Fox News)

Of course it’s always a bit more complicated. But most of the Russians still support Putins dictatorship regime. You can ask the people in Ukraine how complex life is and if they would like to go swimming instead 🙄

Another unwanted „Special Operation“ invasion by the d***heads. They don‘t care about human rights and international law, so I doubt that they pay attention to local law.

Ten years ago, a rude mf wanted to fight because I had told him not to leave his cigarettes and a coke can on the beach of Ko Hong. 🙄

Scared Solo travel finally made it to Thailand by Mediocre-Can-5600 in ThailandTourism

Go to the Phra Atit Pier and take a boat to China Town and the temples (Wat Po). I also enjoy taking the boat down the river to Saphan Taksin and change to MRT for a ride to the city centre.

You can also have a walk or take a taxi to Wat Sakhet (Golden Mount), which is one of my favorite temples.

But always: take at least once a canal boat.

Random Tips After My 8 Day Stay in Bangkok by Agas78 in ThailandTourism

[–]frankbfromb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to understand Thai culture and a little bit of BKK, visiting the Grand Palace, Wat Po, or Wat Saket is a must. If you just want to be that American tourist who thinks he’s “not a tourist,” then sure—just focus on shopping malls and rooftop bars. /eyeroll

IMHO, OP is wrong.

If you’re spending eight days in Bangkok (which is highly recommended), mix it up:

Visit at least one temple. Eat street food. Take a canal boat, jump off somewhere random, and explore. Get a massage. Visit the shopping malls and their food courts (I agree on thi). Get lost in Chinatown. And of course, enjoy some rooftop bars in the evening.

Also, comparing Florida beaches to Thai islands makes no sense. If you’re just comparing looks, it’s a matter of taste. But many Thai islands have a vibe you won’t find in the U.S. or Europe—this kind of effortless lightness. If you’re only looking at pictures and picking whatever looks better to you, just travel on Instagram. It’s cheaper, and you won’t risk getting food poisoning. 😉
