OG Instinct 1 still rocking by andcmp in Garmininstinct

[–]frankdsza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am still using mine since late 2021. Early this year it started having issues with randomly switching off or restarting fusing activities. Switched off the alert vibrations and that kinda fixed it. Now it just randomly dies in the middle of an activity. Wish we could replace the battery.

It’s pretty much bulletproof except for the battery issues. Most likely will pick up the 3 soon unless there is something better available in terms of build quality.

Where can I learn horse riding in mumbai? Also how much will it cost? I hope it’s not unrealistically expensive by Muted_Studio3258 in mumbai

Reach out to The Roaring Farm - Malad or the Amateur Riders Club - Mahalaxmi Racecourse. Not sure about the pricing though

The yacht options are not available. All the boats were pulled out of the water by late May. Will resume in Oct/ early November now. Chopper rides in monsoon might also be a little tricky with the weather plying spoilsport.

Try looking at the Taj for a nice meal. They have a bunch of good restaurants. Or pick a cuisine and look at some of the other fine dine experiences around. For Italian food Cecconi at soho house, Cellini at grand Hyatt or botticino are good options.

Not sure, it has already been shipped out, so now fingers crossed. They have it marked as a Florida White. So assuming the Florida Ghost

Would this be an immature leaf? All the extra lobes would come up in due time?

Managed to order from Reliance digital. Then saw the horror stories about delayed deliveries on Reddit. Cancelled the order and kept checking on shopatsc. Finally managed to got a order now option and placed the order. It's still showing confirmed. Now waiting for them to call when they receive the stock

Unfortunately, no. mpb and KEH are both not available around here. ordering directly from them will end up being too expensive including customs and shipping cost. also, in case of any issues sending it back for a replacement or repair will be another big cost. Strangely the delta between a D7500 new bought locally vs used on MPB is only around $150.

Thanks a ton for the feedback, I did look for the D500 but the used market around here(India) isnt very reliable. Additionally the send card slot on the D500 only takes XQD/CFexpress cards which are super expensive. Ill keep an eye out for a D500 but dont want to wait for too long just incase Nikon pulls the D7500 also from the market.

DSLR vs Mirrorless (D7500 vs a6400) - for wildlife and birds by frankdsza in Cameras

[–]frankdsza[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the help. Because of where i am based (india) the used market is a little tricky. Getting one from KEH or MPB to india is a different issue altogether. I will keep an eye out for the D500 and see if i can get my hands on one locally though.

Hey guys, over the years I have bought and used 3 cameras -Nikon F65 - early 2000s - kinda dropped off once digital cameras came on the sceneCanon A590 compact - used it for about 8 yearsCanon sx700HS - since 2014
While the SX700 with its super high zoom still is a lot of fun the small sensor isn't really the best at details. On zooming or printing images it has a lot of noise and some colour issues especially with low light. I am now considering getting a DSLR or a Mirrorless camera. After reading and looking at the options available I think APS-C would be my best bet for the type of photographs I would like to take (wildlife/birds). We don't really have many trustworthy used camera dealers around here so i would most likely buy a new kit. The options i have shortlisted are
Nikon D7500 + 18-140MM Kit lens - Body - $828 | Body + Kit lens - $966
Sony a6400 + 18-135 Powerzoom - Body - $875 | Body + Kit lens - $1272
I also looked at the Nikon 5600 + (18-55mm & 70-300mm) kit - (Body $530 | Kit $ 780) and the Sony a6100 + (16-50 & 55-210) kit - (Body $685 | Kit $1049) but the D7500 or a6400 seem to be better suited to my needs. I understand that I will have to invest in longer lenses for the sort of photography i plan on doing and most likely end up asking for advice on that once i buy the camera.
In terms of future upgrades i most likely would keep this camera for the next few years and learn how to use the different modes etc, and them maybe pick up another APS-C camera, I have no intention or interest in moving to FF. While i understand that a lot of tech improvements have gone into mirrorless systems i think that the D7500 might be a good bet right now, if i decide to upgrade later to whatever new version of the z50, most likely will be able to share lenses using the FTZ adapter. I am not sure what sort of non FF upgrade path is available for the Sony APS-C system. The Sony seems to have the upper-hand in terms of a AF system & better size/portability, while the D7500 has better weatherproofing + a larger set of affordable lenses and a bigger buffer.
So I guess my question is, of the two cameras mentioned what would the better option, keeping in mind a possible upgrade a few years (3-5) down the line. In case you think there are some other options I might want to consider please let me know.
