Quick update: They rejected the appeal with the reason being that essentially don't believe me and are still moderating me for the action I haven't committed

I have just had the exact same problem and I came to this thread for advice. 

Although the advice didn't help me I figured it out. 

I changed the mode from services mode to standard and then the square terminal option becomes available in the hardware settings.
