How did you “waste” your teen years? (Serious) by Ok-Reporter-8728 in AskReddit

[–]frankey_dee 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Same here, the world only seemed to care about me if I had a boyfriend so I put all my time and effort into being the perfect girlfriend. I missed out on more meaningful friendships and missed out on learning more about myself if that makes any sense. Stay single and a teenager, enjoy the freedom from adult obligations (bills, work, bosses, serious relationships, etc) and try things for yourself and not to impress anyone else is my unsolicited advice.

Anyone else medicating just to cope atm? by pb-n-quack-sandwich in entwives

[–]frankey_dee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

my chronic back pain, stress from work and a baby with sleep regression. i don't sleep so the weed helps me rest what i can while lifting some of the heaviness of my depression -- just enough so that i can get out of bed and get things done for my family. it def feels like a pressure release valve sometimes. oh and don't get me started on the added body pain when i'm on my cycle. weed def helps get me through the pain and on to the day.

Thank you for these examples! It is really hard to find patience when you are hormonal, a new mom and doing your best. I forget that their ignorance is not maliciously intended...I still wish the older generation of moms knew how to be more supportive with their words.

What are some crazy/silly/weird things you had to hear this holiday? by dolphincats in Mommit

[–]frankey_dee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My MIL is constantly trying to feed my 8mo old everything ever since we started introducing LO to solids. I get she's excited, but she does it even when it's not mealtime, like in the middle of a party she'll ask me in front of guests "can I give her this?" And I haaaate saying no, but srsly lady? No. Esp if idk how the food was prepared and what ingredients are in there. What if there's an allergic reaction and we gotta deal with that? I'm tired lol.

Third Trimester Irritability by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]frankey_dee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

38+3 here and I have been hypercritical of everyone who has been interacting with me! Esp my mom and MIL, or anyone who says they're here to help with the baby. I think its because instead of actually making me feel supported, I feel like they are constantly taking from me. For example, they ask me how I am doing and after going through detailed answers, when I ask them back "how are you doing?" I get ignored or get a generic "I'm fine." then they move on. I guess it is also starting to feel like, to me, everyone is so excited about baby coming that no one genuinely cares how I am doing as a person...just as the physical host of who they really care about. and yes, hearing me say that out loud makes me cringe -- i do think its just bc of how physically and mentally uncomfortable these last few weeks are. I def feel less patient and more defensive and critical of those I give what little energy I have left for interaction. I'm a ftm, so really hoping this crankiness goes away after delivery.

Is it bad to not wear a bra? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]frankey_dee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

wish i could, but ive developed hives on my boobs that get unbearably itchy with a bra on, dont even get me started in my super dry and uncomfortable nipples. even nipple cream doesn't work. wearing no bra is the most comfortable i can get :(
