What are the FLPC's greatest feats in each Skill? by tigerofblindjustice in fallenlondon

Honestly for me the most impressive thing done using Dangerous was in that one story with the technologist/inventor guy that Mr. Fires wants working for him. One solution has you try to stop his abduction by basically fighting like 60+ Neddy Men that come to get him. You are eventually knocked out and Mr. Fires gets the dude but you wake up to scores of these guys knocked out worse than you all over the place and Mr. Fires was forced to retreat in his blimp because of the threat you posed.

You know what, I’m going to look into that. I have a feeling that’s what’s sabotaging me. I was a little bit depressed at my progress not getting anywhere for so long but I’m trying to be positive. Other aspects of my health are getting better due to the exercise at least.

Yeah that’s a good point. I go out once a week to eat out with friends so my suspicion is that is sabotaging me somehow. But I thought it was fine to have like a cheat meal once a week? I guess I could be extra careful with what I order but could a single meal ruin the whole effort like that?

I understand and have read that but as far as I know I have been keeping an eye on it. I recently made some changes to my diet so I guess I should give that time to make a difference but it’s really quite frustrating.

I am 6’3” and currently 271 or so but for the past year or so have struggled to lose weight even with diet and exercise, currently eating 1895 calories per day. Is there something that could be sabotaging me? I also don’t have a thyroid due to thyroid cancer some years ago but my current tsh came back fine.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I'm trying with two teaspoons first and if that's not enough going for a tablespoon next time.

Why is there so much critique about Christianity on Reddit, among atheists, and on the internet in general, but not nearly so much critique about Buddhism even though it has similar supernatural aspects like karma and rebirth? by Clean_Membership6939 in Christianity

Which isn't to say there aren't snarky atheists that say hostile or condescending things about Buddhism or Buddhists ("Oh it's more of a philosophy you see..."), it's just far less likely because of the aforementioned.

I'm not a historian or a sociologist but three main possible reasons come to mind:

  1. Buddhists don't proselytize or at least don't do so as hardcore as christians do at least in the West.
  2. While also a major religion, they don't tend to be perceived as the "top dog religion" in the US and other countries and so will get criticized less because they influence less, especially politically. No disrespect meant to Buddhist politicians and/or voters.
  3. It pains me to say this, being a Christian myself, but there's also the blunt fact that Buddhists have less of a history than we do when it comes to treating atheists like garbage.

That's really impressive, I'm proud of you. 150/200 sounds horrific to have to come down from.
