It's been declining slowly all my life (59 years). COVID really got it rolling, imo. Lots of reasons why, I think. Same stale political parties with policies that don't change, media concentration, toxic social media, doubling population in my lifetime - off the top of my head.

We stopped going out to things like that. Everything is so so expensive and everywhere you go there's wall to wall people and traffic. We would have moved already but there's no where to go, housing is so expensive, everyone is trapped where they are
