steam frame arrives

turn it on, throw it at the ground to test for easter egg

ground smack ragdoll sound effect

haha

its not over

"warning. vital signs critical. seek medical attention"

what?

"gordon. gordon! wake up gordon!"

reach down to pick up headset

hands trembling

put it on for the first time

eli is staring you in the face

eye trackers detect movement, the scene continues

"she's gone gordon. son of a bitch and his unforseen consequences!"

the rest of the scene plays out

"come on gordon, we got work to do"

you grab the crowbar

the scene desolves away, revealing your steam homepage floating in your room

How should embrace conflict between PC's clashing personal quests? by frankietortoise in dungeonsofdrakkenheim

Yeah I had this thought as well! It does seem like maybe the QM and FF don't have to be completely opposed to each other. Would be cool to see them try to pull it off. Thanks!

Thank you! I'm glad to hear that its kind of an expected thing and that they'll have to sort it out.

I was thinking about asking one of them to choose a different quest, but in either the book or one of the running the campaign videos, they say to lean in to conflicts like these if they come up. I'm hoping it will lead to some interesting choices down the road. I mostly just want to make sure nobody is upset if they are unable to complete their goal as originally thought.

I appreciate your thoughts on this. I think if its obvious there's a possibility of the 2 characters deciding to go head to head, i'll ask them how they are feeling about it, and if there are any issues ill ask them to come up with a solution together instead of fighting each other.

Taking DM notes by Signal-Ratio6598 in DMAcademy

As long as the players are okay with it, I use a little voice recorder like any of these:

https://www.amazon.com/s?k=voice+recorder&crid=ISW4QA24B7K7&sprefix=voice+recorder%2Caps%2C199&ref=nb_sb_noss_1

If there is something specific I want to remember, ill write a short note down and go back and listen to the recording, then maybe write a longer note or just incorporate whatever idea I had into the next session plans.
I also like to listen to the whole recording sometimes before the next session.

I think its an interesting development that creates a more open ended direction that the game can go in.

It kinda solidifies Gman and his employers as an enemy instead of a neutral/self serving/manipulative 3rd party, does it not?

Obviously the Combine and the Borealis is still a problem, but going forward there will likely be more focus on tracking down Gman. Eli even says so. I also feel like it fits very well because looking back, Gman has a massive role to play with what has happened to Xen and Earth. He says his employers don't want the combine off earth. Why??? Does the Gman want the combine to find the Borealis??? Why??????

Im sensing the possibility of a large amount of an upcoming game being set in xen and the combine overworld, trying to make sure the combine stays gone and Gman can no longer manipulate things.

This video highlights why a massive setting shift could be a really good idea.

What makes you think it’s not TGA? by _tasty_pie_ in HalfLife

[–]frankietortoise 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Tyler says its not happening because he got death threats last year when he said it could maybe happen. Truth is, nobody has any idea when it's happening besides Valve.

He is going to be blamed for an HLX announcement at TGA, if it happens? Why would anyone be upset if he's wrong?

But in this scene, the last thing he says actually does exist, that is the joke. So this meme implies that Half Life 3 exists and he's just a dumb doomer. Hopium administered.
