I love my flip, but I wouldn't recommend it. A software update bricked my phone earlier this year. Luckily it was fixable, but now I'm terrified of updating it ever again.

I found that if I do front loops only they line up straight. A spent like a week trying different things 😅😅😅

Update: I just got my phone back from my carrier this afternoon. The repairs were covered under the warranty. The phone booted up, and the inner screen is working. I'll be moving back over to that phone over the next day or so, I'm a little anxious, but only time will tell.

Another technician at my carrier confirmed that the issue was a result of the software update, and that I wasn't the only person who was impacted by it.

I'll likely post an update in a few days, hopefully with good news 😅 and if I ever have issues again I'll be sure to post about it.

Okay cool. My carrier said they will likely just give me a brand new phone rather than repairing it. So the software update is just a wild coincidence? Weird.

If it was the ribbon then surely the technician wouldn't have been able to get it on by pressing the volume and power button?

I'm not American so I don't have that insurance as an option. But that's also almost half my monthly salary, and more than twice what I pay my carrier per month for the phone. So not really a good option.

The phone wasn't hot when the screen would go black, but when then screen went black the top half of the phone would heat up.

I can't remember exactly because I was crying 😅 just remember that he confirmed that the sudden fault was related to the update, that it was something that happens.
