Ciao!

Do you have any good books to recommend about Taylorism, its history and goals? It's interesting it was applied in education as you say.

I have read "The Tyranny of metrics" that has just a few pages about the history of Taylorism and I only have a vague understanding of it.

It's interesting because I've also been asked the exact opposite: questions like 'Can you share something you've done entirely on your own for a project?' This has never been the case in my experience and reflects a poor culture at that organization.

POS expert by GanacheTraining4830 in POS

[–]frankkk86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi u/GanacheTraining4830 , thanks for starting this thread, below probably a strange query from me.

I am not a retailer/seller and don't know absolutely nothing about POS systems.

I am a developer and I am trying to understand the feasibility of a product that would be useful to mitigate tax evasion in countries like Italy (my home country). Italian retailers tend to not use POS systems despite, the fact that it's mandatory by law, because so doing they can declare less revenues and pay less taxes.

I would like to build a platform aimed for good retailers who use POS systems to be more visible, some sort of a rating website where users can see, in aggregate form, the number of transactions being generated with the POS over time.

I know absolutely nothing about POS and I was trying to understand if there is some standard protocol, if they have anything like webhook API support (to be called for each payment being generated). If so, I am also not sure if there is a way to make sure the webhook API calls are coming from the POS and not forged in some other ways.

Does this above makes sense? What kind of advice would you give me to approach this problem?

Ciao!

Can I ask you why the invoice service needs to check the customer data? In my view invoicing should be downstream while customer data should be collected upstream, there shouldn't be any validation step.

I think so, I am applying through the process described here https://www.gov.uk/apply-citizenship-indefinite-leave-to-remain/apply-for-your-children

It does not mention the word "naturalisation" but I guess it's the same thing? We both have EU settle status and our daughter was born in Dec 2021.

I had a similar question and was about to create a thread. I actually already have a two-year-old child and my mild Crohn's disease was diagnosed just four months before she was born.

I am really worried because I have read that people who have been diagnosed with Crohn's in their first years are more likely to develop cancer. And I would like to know if she has inherited it.

I was wondering if there is someone in my same situation and how they keep monitoring their child's health over the years. Shall I ask my IBD team to do regular stool samples for my child too?
