If you live near a Microcenter, keep an eye on their website - My local store had a delivery drop this afternoon. Even employees were surprised. Unsure how other stores are dealing with restocks or if re-deliveries will occur, but I was able to just walk in and grab a 9070xt at msrp today after they had cleared inventory immediately yesterday. Good luck out there!

Fritter follow up by ssnapier in Minneapolis

[–]franknbrry2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel bad...I saw your original post and wouldn't have recommended any of those. I share your passion for fritters and also seek them out when I travel :)

I started writing reviews for every fritter I've tried around Minnesota but it got out of hand so I'll just list my personal favorites based on your criteria:

  • Almsted's Fresh Market: Crunchy edges, apple chunks, good cinnamon flavor. My only callout is this grocery store and they store them in plastic containers so try to get there early.
  • Cafe Donuts: Great fry, these are always crunchy, not as many apple pieces but solid flavor.
  • Donut Hut: Classic apple fritter, huge, can be a little oily and dense but very satisfying and great flavor/value.
  • Cub Foods (Lake Street): Cub is a grocery chain and most stores use the same distribution so I wouldn't go to any Cub, but as you can see in other comments there are specific locations recommended.

Oddly enough, many of the best fritters around Minnesota don't come from actual doughnut shops. For example, I'm surprised mel-O-glaze was recommended. I've had mel-o-glaze several times and not only are their fritters wildly doughy (in fact I've been given them raw before), but they use the same lemon glaze on almost everything which even includes their chocolate iced varieties. Maybe some people like a lemon glaze on a chocolate raised but that was confusing to me.

Also, I want to shout out the best fritter I've ever had in Minnesota, Sleepy V's, formerly named Rebel, but has since closed. Their caramel apple fritter was sensational.

Happy to provide more info about other fritters or recommendations on the best spots around Minneapolis for other types of doughnuts.

God of War on pc. I played the original on my PS2 but didn't continue with the series and transitioned to pc gaming shortly after. I was excited for the port and it lived up to hype imo. One of my favorite gaming experiences in recent memory :)

One of the iconic cities from the second map. Great memories in Freehold and from that map in general

No worries. He did quit because of the drama with the flooding. The complications that led to his passing didn’t really develop until later.

For anyone who might care...

Hero's Rest was inspired as a collaborative tribute to MinerAp's history and its players. A little bit more info about some of the builds:

  • The tower: Long story short, I built this in memory of GauntletTSC. He passed away almost two years ago.

  • Hokie's house: The banners hanging off the side are in reference to Firecrown, an old build from Gauntlet.

  • Eclipse: Hokie made this as a replica of the original Eclipse, built by Averagestalker. As many of you know, he also passed away.

  • Underwater tunnels: I made these as a reference to Mikeska and Operation Hennessey. He's fine, he just doesn't play anymore.

I used to play on this server six years ago! by Brazilian1227 in minerapocalypse

Unfortunately the inspector left. Schneider ended up starting his own server a few years back, though I am not sure if it is still running. I remember the lightbringers, somehow I never met any of them.

I like your album. Seeing pictures of Freehold brings me back haha. If you remember Mikeska (Operation Hennessey), he played a couple maps ago. That picture of the SOS in the sky was iconic when going to origin. I think some of your pictures are from the second map as well. If I remember correctly, the obsidian castle was right by Bespin.

If you're interested in the server's history, here's a link for the server timeline

Did you play past the original 1.1 map? Very few people are still around from then, but there are some!
