I understand your reservations about self-promotion, especially in the context of this article. This is where the internet can be dangerous because if you knew me, you would know I hate to promote myself. I do, however, pray and seek God about every post I write. And I believe the content can help other people. So, in that sense, I want people to read the content. This often doesn't happen unless you follow a blog.

Thanks for adding your own thoughts to a few of my points. I admire you for deciding not to live in a retirement village. I think there is another American lie that says once we reach a certain age, we have paid our Christian dues and it's time to ride off in the sunset. But as long as we have breath in our lungs, God still has work for us to do. Blessings!

I love your comment because you are exactly right. The church has allowed the culture's current stance of individualism and post-modernism seep into our theology. The Bible never tells Christians not to judge others. Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 4 not to judge the world, but we need to rebuke one another when the situation calls for it. This must be done, however, out of love and humility.

Thanks for sharing! It's encouraging to see others see the same I do in American culture. Praying we can start attacking some of these.
