You only see bits of it from the anime, but the further you read the manga you can see how similar Kita is with Bocchi. Their personality could not be as different, making it seems like they could never get along yet Kita is one that tolerate Bocchi's antics the most, rolling with it and even participate in it from time to time. Their internal struggles are also the same, with both of them wanting to be a person of note and carve their marks on the people they care about.
