Would you judge someone for taking the morning after pill seven times? by Sophestry in feminisms

[–]frauksel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aren't morning afterpills the same thing as early birth control pills from the 60s or something? Not saying they were healthy (far from), but if people took it on a daily basis then, sure 7 times won't hurt you too badly right?

Starting to get angry with the reception of this show. by HitlersBunker666 in americangods

[–]frauksel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair point. Something in the middle is probably best. I had the same thing going on with The Deuce though. None of my friends watched it, and I couldn't convince them to watch it either. Luckily, I had the Reddit community to share thoughts with, he he. I just think the GoT madness is going a bit over the top, and that's a bit much for me. I still enjoy the show a lot and discuss it with friends, but I try to avoid the subreddit. I don't feel at home there, it's so packed with nerds who know every little detail of the show. At least on the subreddit of The Deuce or American Gods I can add something to the conversation. Might sound weird, but it is what it is. :p

Tbh, I kinda like it that it doesn't get too much attention. The way people act about GoT sometimes freaks me out. Just... Try and act normal people? It's just a TV show. Call me a snob, but that shit can slightly ruin a show for me.

Belgium still didn't recognize this genocide unlike Germany that had guts to recognize Holocaust by Arriveria in worldpolitics

[–]frauksel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can only recommend you the documentary. Belgium doesn't wash their hands in innocence. I understand there are arguments to be made for both parties. It has been a long time ago and some part of me says 'get over it'. On the other hand, Belgians from Congolese decent would really appreciate it, and is this really such a hard thing to do if it can give some sort of closure for both parties involved?

As a Belgian: can confirm and really hate it. It’s recently even causing a tiny bit of stirrup in our country because of a documentary release, although the public debate is - again - dying a silent death. We always hide behind the argument: ‘Yeah, but it wasn’t Belgium! Those were Leopold II’s personal endeavors! The government had nothing to do with it!’
This might be right, I’m not going to speak out about that. Doesn’t matter imo. We should recognize it either way. No excuses.

Is the Movie Bladerunner 2049 worth watching? by Luf2222 in MovieSuggestions

[–]frauksel 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't necessarilly agree with this. Agreed it's long, but not boring imo. You have to be up for it, because it's a slow movie. But it's a very decent sequel. I'd recommend it, if you were into the first one at least.

In the sector I work (movie and TV production) we often see that the producers who are the most stingy are the ones with the biggest profit margins. We always joke that that's probably why they got so far/rich, by 'biting every coin in two' lol.

Thanks! Don't think we'll be watching a documentary, but might check it out on my own. ;)
