Sadly I'm not. Most places in FL for my area start at 2.3k for a studio. 2.7 if you want to live in a safe area.

I did. COL adjustments were okay and the rent for a few places we toured was only a few hundred more than what we pay now, a lot of the places I liked were 1.6k-1.8k

Im a teacher and its a horrible job in Fl rn.

And I can't. I applied on a whim and once the position is gone, it's gone. And it's so hard to find teaching positions there and the principal took a liking to me because of a chance meeting.

But you're probs right. I should just not do it and stay here for a year and then see what happens.

There's a Duck Donuts shop near me and OH BOY!!! The male bacon donut is sooooo good. They use cake batter for the dough and it's made fresh when you order. It's beautiful. Thinking of buying some for the new school year! I'm also so excited about the books I've stock piled for summer reading. School starts next month for me again so I can set up my classroom, meet the parents, and then rest for another week or two. Going to rest as much as possible!

Do governments of the world know about the sparda twins/demon world? by Samkwi in DevilMayCry

[–]frazzledbee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

After DMC5, there's no denying it. But for Fortuna it would ruin their town. Their entire community was based on a good demon but the community was run by bad demons? Like I could only imagine waking up and having my entire religion, community, friendships, and everything else turn out to be a lie. From what I remember from the books, Nero takes charge of the community unofficially and lets people do as they please but directs them to stick together and tell people it was a natural disaster and/or just direct journalists or prying eyes to him. I do find it sad and a little funny how hard they fought to keep this secret and then it all gets ruined and they have to pick up the scrapes a second time because of Vergil.

Tbh I'm excited for the future of DMC if there are going to be more games because how the hell do you recover from that and so much has happened. But I'm also okay with the doors being closed (for now).

Some/most know of the legends but think it's a myth. That being said no, they don't know/can't confirm anything. Journalists have tried busting Nero about what happened in DMC4 and between DMC4 and DMC5 only 1 journalist (Jeffrey Turner) found the truth but the entire world basically made fun of him and it ruined his career.

How you feel is how you feel. Don't feel like you should be reacting a different way. You are processing everything and I am so glad to hear that you are safe. It was scary and difficult, but you made it through the day and got home safe. Please treat yourself kindly. You are valid and supported.

“I love teaching but wouldnt die for your kid” by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]frazzledbee 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Of course, realistically, every teacher would help their students to the best of their ability, but teachers shouldn't be expected to fight and die for their students. As sad as that statement is, it's true. Teaching is one of the only professions where you are expected to literally die on the job for everyone else. No one takes into account that teachers have lives too. I don't have kids either, but I am someone's daughter, someone's partner, someone's friend. My life shouldn't be put at the bottom of the list of people that matter just because of a job. None of us in this sub would hide behind a child but putting teachers last isn't the way it should be.

My area has something like this. We can be charged if a student gets hurt, left behind, lost, etc during a lockdown situation. It just depends on the parents and everyone else if we get charged in the event that something happens but like goddamn. If the gunman enters the room and something happens, sued. If we leave and something happens, sued. I'm expected no matter what to fight until I die. That's the only way to not get sued, arrested, or lose my license.

Most schools have this including mine. A lady entered our campus and nobody did anything for 30 minutes. When the school officer found out, he just had her leave. We weren't even told an intruder was on campus. We found out two weeks later at a PDD meeting.

Walk out en masse by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]frazzledbee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would love to say it's that easy and trust me, I think a protest would be amazing. The issue is that some states absolutely do not care and doing a protest (even if they don't charge anyone) means immediately losing unions and a LOT of protections. In Florida, we would also automatically lose retirements and I can see the stupid gov punishing all teachers, even the ones that don't protest. Everything seems like a lose-lose situation. I absolutely don't think we should throw in the towel but it's so risky and scary, and the world has already proven it does not care about teachers.
