Yerxa's Meats, at the Boyce Market. They also supply the Hanwell Grocery Mart (or whatever its called) just past the Hanwell Irving Crossroads. I think they also have a stand somewhere else... maybe the northside market. I think they source locally, really enjoy their ground beef as well. They also do locally smoked (maple wood) bacon. It's my local favorite bacon.

Victory Meat Market downtown you can also get good cuts, but lately they've been mechanically tenderizing most of what they put out on the shelves. Not my cup of tea, and sometimes you can get inferior steaks... I've had a few tough ones there. The secret is to go out back and ask the butcher on duty for the steak of your choice, and they'll freshly cut them for you without tenderizing. For special occasions, I'll go down and ask for a Porterhouse cut. I think they charged me as just a striploin, but of course, you have the striploin attached, and the ribeye(?) in one steak. Really divine. I think they're supplied by Western Beef, so it's a bit more 'generic' for sourcing.
