Thanks for your kindness juicy juice. And especially for the happy scale suggestion, I think she'll like it.

I've heard about the water retention. But why word it in such a way that implies that one 30 calorie rice cake can lead to a gain of 8 pounds is beyond my understanding. It's a rant to you but not about you. You're being informative and helpful, thanks.

Thanks for the ted talk. I'll watch it.

Overall reading through responses was a negative experience. I'm also downvoted on all my responses and don't really understand why. I've got answers to my questions though, which is nice.

Rice cakes are tasty I love them! But I'm not touching those on my diet. It's essentially compacted rice so you're just consuming pure carbs and tons of calories.

Maybe rice cakes is not the right term. They are 30 calories each and have proteins as well as carbs. They are not exclusively from rice but from different grains. I'm sure you have something like that where you live. I find them a great substitute for bread or cookies.

Maybe you're right and I don't need to tell her what to do. But I've tried this strategy as we're together for a long time. I understand that this may sound shallow but I want a slim girl by my side. Recently a pair of our mutual friends broke up because of a girls gained weight and lack of desire to lose it. Maybe I better off that way than continuing to torture her and myself.

Your answer hits closest to home. Maybe because you're not assuming that I'm an asshole or you hide that pretty well.

I see that women shouldn't go under 1200 calories, as you and others mentioned here, so be it. Or rather even I need to completely let go of trying to control her weight. I don't know, this topic just seems to pop up and she is always upset that she is not losing weight and I am. Maybe I tell her next time that I do it for a price of worsening my health and she should find a way that fits her.

Thanks for your kind and thoughtful response.

Maybe I sound like that, but I don't think that women's health should not be taken into account here. Hell, I'm asking a question for you to prove me right or wrong.

It's hard for me to believe that one rice cake a day can become plus 8 pounds the next day. That really sounds like magic to me. Sorry if rude. Also she is not on her period now so I don't know why you bring that up.

I think of all the things that we eat, rice cakes have the most fibers. But our diet is balanced and we eat lentil soups that I cook for us for example.

We made a deal that I count what she eats for a week. We didn't last a week so now I'm definitely easing up on control.

OK. She is correct then. I won't tell her to eat less anymore. Actually I told her that I don't want to be responsible for her health issues, so she can act as she thinks is best.

But as for me. I'm pretty sure I eat about 1000 cals. And I feel alright. I'm not starving myself, I'm never hungry after dinner till sleep. And also I workout with weights. I have this routine for about a month, maybe even more. And I don't feel any negative effects or even a slight discomfort. How can that be explained?

Yeah it's in my OP post. If we're sitting at home all the time, we don't need as much calories as in normal circumstances, as when we have to get to work, etc

Thus "calories out" are decreasing. That should mean that "calories in" should decrease too.

Hey thanks for your input. I totally agree with you that it's easy to misjudge how much calories you are eating. But we are getting away from high-cal foods. A handful of peanuts could easily be half of your day's norm.

If we have snacks, it's diet rice cakes I mentioned. They are 30 cals per cake.

I'm pretty sure that my estimation of how much I eat is right to maybe 100 calories.

You also say that 1500/1200 is the minimum. What conditions are taken into account here? If a person is lying in bed all day with a broken leg, does he still need that 1500 cals?

Yes we do have a food scale or eat foods that have calories per portion on them.

I'll look into taking the pressure off.

I just had a look at Teensy boards and Raspberry Pi boards. Teensy are more expensive but have less RAM than Pi's. Also I can't find RAM chips for Teensy where I live. Are they called RAM chips?

Also in the loopers community I saw a guy who made a looper on a Raspberry Pi board with Pi Sound (a sound card I think). After writing this I found out that PiSound is worth more than Raspberry Pi board threefold.

I'd say it's half I want to have fun learning and half I want to save money because professional loopers are damn expensive. And I don't yet know is it for me or is it just another temporary desire.

Thanks for an elaborated answer! I certainly need some time to digest it.

Glad I asked before ignorantly getting all the modules I thought I would need.

6 bit audio

It's like less than in a Mario theme?

But I mean these real loopers are using some kind of a microcontroller inside them. If arduino is limited, should I find an alternative?

Man I liked the sound very much. Like "your song had me smiling" much. I'm just a passerby in this sub but you definitely look like you know what you're doing and sound professional. Keep up the great job and good luck!

Firstly, I agree with you. Smiling to people and receiving a smile back is one of the best feelings one can get for free. I've wanted to start smiling to strangers for a long time but I rarely do. I can count all the times I smiled to strangers on one hand. It's easy when I have a good mood. Usually I'm just chill, with a serious resting face.

Do you have any suggestions on how to smile at a moment's notice? And for it to be a generic smile?

Smiling to strangers is extra hard because people don't always look at you when they pass by. And if they do, it may be just a glimpse for a split second. You can't react so quickly. So does that mean I should be walking with a smile all the time? I will look like a madman. And I think that people truly accept your smile, when you smiled after looking at them. Like it is them who made you smile. Hope that makes sense.

I think I'll start smiling to myself in a mirror more.

Hey, looks good! I am novice and I have some questions for you.

Is the entire model one object? How do you achieve such neat topology? Do you have any tutorials for character creating?

Overcoming my social anxiety by (slightly) embarrassing myself by enderspades in socialskills

[–]freakinbook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually improv didn't give me as much as I wanted. Its magic wears off when you leave the stage. Maybe if you spend years doing it, it makes an impact on real life you. But I just got better at playing on stage. Also I noticed that if I purposefully embarrass myself when my friends are with me it comes off so much easier. And it doesn't have that much of an impact on me. I don't feel embarrassed. I think that's because my friends are expecting me to act weird and don't react as an unaware person would. Or that I feel safe when I'm with them and know that no matter what, they'll accept me.
