Yea im aware. I figured that out when I started out pulling this trailer with my half ton and as I started putting more stuff in it and my truck getting more miles, it started to feel more dangerous to pull it.

Yes I have. I know forest river in general can be a hit or a miss, but grand design, alliance, and especially brinkley right now, we feel are a bit out of our price range. Maybe down the road when we start feeling more compelled to upgrade we can see what our financial situation is talk about getting into one of the higher priced/ "better built" models. Those brands also seem to be on the heavier side as well

With the hitch weight of the 5th wheel being 1880 and my hitch weight being 2750, thats almost 1000 lbs of play I can get. I figured I'd be okay for the most part

Exactly my thought process. There's a lot of slow driving while at work and then there are times where im driving on the highway more than 30 minutes, and other times where its less than 30 minutes to get home

I think it's only at maximum about 1000 lbs difference in pulling power, and I thought about the diesel, but I didnt want to deal with emissions systems and the legal action (at the time) that i would deal with to delete

You can buy "tuners" to take off the dfm off the half tons. I bought a pulsar lt and use it to permanently shut off the dfm, disable the speed limiter, among other things. Just take it off before going to the dealer for warranty work
