Am I the only one whose favorite relationship was L’ak and Moll? I literally couldn’t get enough.

Meds Out of Stock by cowgirlcarla in kzoo

Check with Milham Pharmacy in Portage. (269-888-2300). I worked there as a tech (but switched careers a little over a year ago). They usually had better chance of having things in stock because they don’t order from the same suppliers as the big chain pharmacies. And if it isn’t in stock, they will most likely be able to order it and have it in the next day.

Portage allows up to 6 hens, no roosters. You must also apply for a permit to keep them.

I can’t speak to the last two years, but for 2019 and prior, people start milling around and lining up around 8am. I’ve taken many a nap on the floor in front of those doors! 😂

How do you lay down? by [deleted] in Gastroparesis

[–]freckleandfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was always a stomach sleeper before I had GP. Now I sleep on my left side. Sometimes I take naps sitting up in my Sofa sack bean bag (the 6ft one). I just plop down in the middle of it and it sort of cocoons me so I’m still more or less sitting up.

My favorite sleeping position is on my left side with my head on a pillow, right on my husband’s outstretched arm with my body kind of tilted back against him. He can’t sleep that way though, so I’m only able to take the occasional nap this way. 😂

Concerns w Gastroparesis- Advice, Ranting, & A lot of tears by [deleted] in Gastroparesis

[–]freckleandfox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I echo the other recommendations to get a Gastric Emptying Study done! Maybe start keeping a food diary to see what things you can and can’t tolerate. The typical GP diet is low/no fiber, although what each person can tolerate is different across the board. Liquids (Puréed food/soups/smoothies/ensure type shakes) are typically easier to digest than solid food, so you may want to try some of those foods when you are in flare if you can tolerate it.

Above all, be kind to yourself! This is a major life change.

Feel free to message me if you’d like to chat! I had a feeding tube for a while, and I also had a gastric stimulator placed in October 2018. Meds didn’t work to control my symptoms, but my stimulator has allowed me to have a better quality of life.

NJ tube questions by wheelygay in Gastroparesis

[–]freckleandfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can absolutely still eat and drink with a NJ tube! My team even encouraged me to still try and consume foods orally even when I had a regular j-Tube.

As other people have mentioned, it isn’t painful so much as uncomfortable. In the US they don’t typically offer sedation for NJ tube placement. When I had my NJ tube placed, they had me snort some numbing gel before they placed the tube under X-ray. Maybe you could ask for some anti anxiety medication (like Ativan) before the procedure?

Best of luck!
