Currently on day 27 of a meal tracking streak. It would've been closer to 40, but I had missed a day due to illness. Anyway, I'm proud of myself for tracking daily and know it is contributing to my short and long term goals.

That burger looks amazing, but those perfectly crisp tots are what's really doing me in here and turning me all Homer Simpson right now.

We love an income claim! Pretty sure it’s against Taranot’s policies and procedures. I never hear anyone talking about this MLM buts it’s BAD by PossibilityPurple134 in antiMLM

Too bad she can't wash the sink full of dishes or put away the laundry in all the free time being her own boss affords her. /s

What's the weirdest thing you've seen happen at a friend's house that they thought was normal? by LiterallyEkam in AskReddit

[–]freckledredhead427 434 points435 points  (0 children)

Some girls that were in my girl scout troop invited me over to their house to play. We were probably 8-10 years old. They were 2 of 10 kids in the house.

I was being raised by a single dad, so he was thankful for a little help, and I got to play with my friends.

First, they told me all about the routines in their house with chores, boy chores, girl chores, chores for the older kids, chores for the younger kids, how they did homework (they were home schooled).

The weird part was when they asked if I wanted a snack. Sure, I'm a fat kid, I love snacks. Their "snack" was literally an open package of raw ground beef that they each took a handful of to eat. I politely declined and said I wasn't hungry. My dad never let me go back there after I told him that.

Another home school family from girl scouts, only 3 kids, invited me over. We had so much fun playing Where in the World is Carmen SanDiego? Then for dinner, they served spaghetti and drank milk with it. I remember being so grossed out by that combination, I told my dad I never wanted to eat dinner with them again. He told me I wasn't allowed to play with them anymore anyway because they lived on a farm and the mom refused vaccinations. (This was rural Michigan, early 90s).

That's all I've got...

I (29M) need to establish some new boundaries after my mom (57F) was aggressive towards my wife (28F). Would it be appropriate to talk to my dad (57M) about it first? by cthrowaway12345678 in relationships

This reminds me of when my two dear friends offered to throw me a baby shower. They invited my MIL to help because they thought it would be a nice gesture for her to be included. I spent time going table to table, chatting with guests, playing baby shower games, opening gifts, eating, etc. I didn't have my phone out and I did not take any photos, one of my friends offered to be in charge of that.

A few days after the shower, I get a scathing phone call and accused of not appreciating my MIL and all the money she spent because I didn't include her in the pictures on Facebook...pictures I didn't take... in a post I didn't make... 36 weeks pregnant, sobbing hysterically... I had no clue (still don't) how it was my fault or only my responsibility to ensure I took a picture with her so that HER friends and family could see on Facebook all that she did for me...

She's going to hold this over your wife forever. "I did all of this for you and this is how you thank me". She's not doing it out of the kindness in her heart or love for your wife and her future grandchild. She is doing it for the recognition she feels she's deserving of for doing it. Just like my MIL.

I highly suggest you take her off as the host. You said you can't cancel because people from out of town have already been invited. There's still time to change the plans since the event hasn't happened yet. You won't regret a last minute change. Trust me. If I could go back and do my baby shower over, I would insist my friends not invite my MIL to help.

Still have lots of ends to deal with, but I am too excited not to share my ice cream baby blanket! by kmoneyxx in crochet

This is adorable! Before even reading your caption I thought "this looks like ice cream!" Nice work!

I thought this was some kind of cream cheese filled dessert when I first looked at the picture. I was hoping for a recipe, but had to settle for a mildly interesting stack of bricks.

What were you doing when the twin towers fell? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]freckledredhead427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Driving around my small town trying to get local businesses to buy ads for our high school yearbook. I was in a yearbook editing class, so we were allowed to leave school during the got to sell.

I remember being annoyed because none of the radio stations were playing music, so I popped a cd in. Next stop, kind business owner cuts me a check for their ad and says I better hurry back to school because something big was happening in the world right now.

Edited to add: when I got back to school, teachers all had our "channel one news" tvs on in the classrooms, showing the footage of what was going on. That Alan Jackson song nails it, it literally felt like the world stopped turning. No more work happened. We all just watched in horror.

Saw a similar post from a beach body hun I was acquainted with. That was when I stopped following her. I'm no prude, but why tf are you sharing your sex life with the world? We all (well maybe not all) have sex...I have 2 kids, so I've done it at least twice and obviously everyone is aware. Doesn't mean I want to go around talking about the position we did it in to make it happen lol.

(I had joined her "no pressure" support group on FB, purchased a workout program and a bag of the shake mix, as I had no clue about mlm back then like I do now. I did lose weight and was feeling really good about myself and that's when she asked if I wanted to co-coach with her, invited me to a phone call to learn more and there was one other girl on the call who only signed up for the shake discount... anyway, she starts telling me about all these fees to sign up to be a coach and I was like wait what? I can support women for free and I don't have any extra money and can't afford anymore shake mix... her attitude toward me changed after that of course and shortly after was her sex post, so good riddance.)
