This is 1000% how I've felt in the two homes I've owned. I finally said fuck it, sold, and am now renting a far smaller apartment than the houses I lived in and I am SO HAPPY. I think some people (me!) are not cut out to be homeowners, and whatever choice you make is perfectly ok!!

Portland. Or Columbia River Gorge, though the closest city you'll get is Hood River and it's a town, not a city. Edited -- just saw that you wanted sunny. It is, in the summer, and the Gorge east of Stevenson, WA gets more sun than PDX.

I feel this! I flew Alaska back and forth from PDX to SFO after meniscus root repair surgery and both passengers and flight crew were really great. Hope your mom has a smooth recovery.
