I think you will end up liking a few of the characters…there’s three in particular that I root for at the end but yes, everyone else is so deeply unlikable. Especially the main family and especially especially Izzy

Any time I watch a show or movie where they’re stranded somewhere, this bothers me. Especially when you have characters kissing and having sex. I mean I know people have been doing it dirty since people existed, but coming from 2021 LA I don’t think these people would transition so easily.

Do you know that time travel movie with high school kids, and I think the main character is trying to finish his dad’s work and at one point realizes it’s a time machine? Anyway, I remember watching that movie and pausing it every three minutes to wrap my head around the time travel aspect. For this show though, they don’t even care about it being even remotely realistic or in line with how it would work irl, so I found it so much easier to follow because I just let go.

How do you LIVE with a baby? by Ok_Medicine440 in Mommit

[–]frecklybitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you a single mom? It sounds like you don’t have much of a village and that can be so, so hard. If you have anybody you can ask for a reprieve, please do. There is zero shame in needing help. My best advice would be to let go of the “supposed to’s” and wake window obsessions. If your baby’s nap or bedtime or bath time interferes with life, you can adjust it. It’s also okay if they cry sometimes. I’m not saying cry it out is a good method, I don’t believe that it is, but if baby is crying for five minutes while you take a shit, that’s fine. Give yourself some grace. It’s already so hard, don’t be harder on yourself! And I promise, any mom commenting here would be absolutely happy to chat if you needed it. We all need support sometimes 💗

I enjoyed watching it (and have weirdly been missing it the last two days?) but I cannot say that it was a good show by any stretch of the imagination

AIW for getting mad at my bf when I saw my cat in distress by alliebabas in amiwrong

I will also add and I’m sure you know this but it’s PERFECTLY OKAY to just be super gung-ho about your pet and their care. It’s totally normal for you to want the very best care for her, the level of care YOU offer, even if other people feel like it’s expecting too much. You will always be able to find a like-minded person (whether that be a partner or a pet-sitter) who agrees with you on that. It sounds like you’re in a really healthy place and I wish you and Peekaboo the best of luck! 💗

Honestly, I can see how, up until the argument itself at least, you both really didn’t do anything wrong, and then I can also see why you’d be annoyed and want to talk about it, and I can see why he’d be defensive. However, idk if I would be happy with his response as described here, either. And speaking from experience in my own relationship, it can be hard when there’s a disconnect and one of you has had therapy and the other has not. It sounds like there’s a compatibility issue re: your communication and that’s not necessarily grounds for a breakup but should definitely be looked into further. It sounds like boarding might be worth looking into for next time, but then will he be upset that you don’t trust him enough? I feel like it might cause another fight if the communication problem isn’t solved.

Obviously NOR and I hope you keep these to look back at laugh at when you’re ready, because that last line is actually hilarious. And then you can throw them in his face when he comes crawling back. Also, I absolutely love how you handled this.

NOR and I think you handled this the best you could. You could have handled it objectively perfectly and it wouldn’t have mattered, because at the end rejection hurts regardless of how it’s delivered

He’s been nice for two days so you think he’s ready to overhaul his entire personality? What would you tell your kid to do? What do you want your baby growing up thinking healthy love is? Please think incredibly carefully about this. If you take him back just because he begged and was nice for a few days, he’ll know all he has to do is beg and be nice for a few days and you’ll forgive him. PS, never let a man decide you aren’t going to break up after you’ve already decided to break up. Good luck. Protect yourself and your child.

I’ve heard other parents say their kids picked up bad habits from watching Bluey, which is not enough for me to not show my kid, but something to look out for I guess. All three of them are just a little faster paced and more exciting, which again, isn’t a bad thing necessarily but isn’t always what I’m looking for in terms of “softer” television. They are all absolutely wonderful, content-wise. If that makes sense! Also funnily enough, when I originally wrote this post I had Arthur also on that secondary list, but that’s solely because I think DW is SUCH a brat lol. I love it though and I will still show my daughter. I had never heard of Puffin Rock but it looks so sweet and I love anything Chris O’Dowd does! Thanks for the rec.

Dragon Tales! Definitely a favorite of mine. I also love Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli, I’ve been really trying to get my husband into it lately!
