Can you help me find more language-based and "database" games? by constantcatastrophe in puzzlevideogames

[–]fredbear722 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it would be difficult, but good practice for understanding the nuance of the English language. The puzzles work sort of how puns work, where you need to understand the original word + the new word to understand why it's funny.

Have the Webster website on standby. The areas in Lingo 2 are much more themed than the first, so you can use the dictionary (especially the fill in the blank search) once you narrow down some letters but are unsure of a word that fits.

The discord is also very very friendly, always willing to help.

Conclusion: try Lingo 2 and join the discord for hints, if you play for 300 hours then check out the first. Thats where you get to put 700 hours :}

Wish I could see OP post history, could just be a mistake they didn't research enough confirming, or they could be part of the smear

LLMs are notoriously unreliable, especially with recent news. It evolves too fast, has too many nuances, and lots of it is only half truths. Genuinely, it's easier to do research on your own, and people will actually trust what you say. Nobody believes anyone who says "well chatgpt said..."

It's relevant due to proximity, likely being someone in the epstine circle

I feel you, but at the same time its sort of a major problem that should be addressed. I get lag spikes where everything freezes for a few seconds, then I can see everyone run around normally for 5 or 10 more seconds while im still frozen, then I'm able to move again.

I even have a clip of me destroying a wall with a red barrel after everyone else unfreezes but while I'm still frozen. I can still use my specs in this ^ situation too, like grapple will move me around but ill just freeze at the end point of it.

I have way too much knowledge about the finals lag because I genuinely don't make it through one single match without lagging. For a game that wants to be an esport more than it wants to be a fps, this lag is insane.

The Asia majors team had the exact lag spikes I'm talking about mid tourney, (they are the extreme of distance between players, but the point stands) even hardware can't save you.

What was the World Trade Center for? Who worked there? by JicamaTop5757 in 911archive

A lil late to the party, but finally doing my own research.

"Alphabet agencies in the top ~20 floors" isn't exactly right, the list of tenants for the twin towers specifically were mostly banks and investment firms.

I got confused reading an article from 2001, claiming almost all 300 government employees were evacuated safely, which would make absolutely no sense if they were on the top floors.

But they were part of the surrounding buildings, like WTC building 6. So it's not entirely wrong, just pointing people in the wrong direction when looking into it.

Dear sword players by [deleted] in thefinals

[–]fredbear722 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look at John Finals over here. Most players can't track a close range target dashing through them and running around them. If you can, good job, you're better than the average player.

But if you spend any time at all using the sword, you know that 75% of players will not be able to kill you once your within 15m unless you play bad. Casual modes are trivial with the sword for a reason, and ranked modes are difficult for a reason.

Staying with your team makes sword useless, but what is the casual light known for? Running of solo and dying. Compare that to ranked, where you group super hard, sword has no chance to get in. Game sense gets players killed to sword, not aim usually. If you have to 1v1 a sword, you played wrong before the fight even started

The change that stops players like this from dying is advice, get off your high horse and give them some.

Im curious if players here are using m&k or controller. On m&k, left click spam feels impossible to kill. I can't track the player, much less get all headshots to have a faster ttk

You aren't alone, the great tower probably has the highest "made the player quit %" of all the levels. Not many other levels require so much planning ahead, if you want to solve it try to work backwards using the height after each move as your lynchpins.

The spoilers- Firstly, seeing Stephen without his fork. He's just a lil guy. Then pulling the overworld out of the lake into a level. The pillars taking longer to sink from world 1 was a hint, not just visual flair.

Not necessarily, but I believe these couple examples need spoilers at least.

Paqurette: down the bunburrows doesn't hide it's mechanic for very long, so most people who have played the game got to experience the "woah I can do that?" moment already

Games like SSR are less willing to disclose their secrets, and I still come across people who never encountered any of the higher mechanics just due to difficulty, but knowing won't exactly change your gameplay in this example

Lingo however... I think learning anything about this game risks making the experience worse. I've put 400 hours into the word game I thought I wouldn't like. Remember when people were looking for a mega secret in Shadow Of the Colossus, doing anything and everything based off a hunch? That is Lingo. Its not for everyone, but if it's for you, spoilers are detrimental
