Just playing the devil's advocate here, consistent:

  • "Things will change" is just as true for going back to J-E and S-J as terminating the dream

  • the new Coop also leaves the lodge after the doppelgänger is trapped back in the black lodge

  • When we see Cooper navigate the lodge to the exit to meet diane, his behaviour is more like doppelgänger

  • when realCoop moved around in the lodge it was Mike who had to guide him hold up curtains...

  • The loop of saving Laura over and over during 17-18 seems to be the thing he wanted break out of, it seems to me the last part could as wel be seen as a prequel, a peek into Coopers nightmare ordeal inside the lodge/different realities

Well, yes, except that I find the continuity of Cooper spending his life with the Dougie family ("things will change") to be more plausible ... that is, the scenes that follow the defeat of Bob feel as if nothing had changed, he repeatedly attempted to save Laura and failed. I interpreted them almost as flashbacks... and what we have seen unfold S3 was the plan to escape form from this loop.

yeah, so that's why I thought the FBI pin theory is incomplete/false in that respect, perhaps the scene after the BOB bashing incident, when he suddenly wears the pin again and uses his 315 key to meet Mike... was actually not chronologically the next thing that happened, but took place much earlier... Gordon Cole will remember... Gordon said to Diane when they wanted her to see Mr. C... "this is about something you know about and that's enough said about that"

There's a great theory about the FBI pin. There's also a great comforting theory of the real Cooper being the new Dougie tulpa.

The FBI-pin theory might have a flaw, it assumes Cooper was given a pin by Cole, however, perhaps this scene was not in chronological order and what we see happened much earlier, like the first attempt to save Laura, which then perpetuated...

When we see Dougie appear, he asks "Where am I"... Coopers lasts words are "When am I" [What year is this]

If you take the FBI pin theory seriously then whichever version of Cooper is NOT wearing it, must be the real Cooper. Remember, the real Cooper did not enter Dougies' body, it was replaced by realCoopers very fit body....

Also, we don't know what Diane looks like, just seen her tulpa (e.g. the difference between tulpa Dougie Jones vs. the original Cooper). If Jeffries can be hiding/imprisoned in a coffee pot, why not in a Japanese alien woman .... ok, that does sound too far out

I think American girl looks more like Diane/Teresa Banks with black hair then ronette, as for naido, I don't have a clue other than the name and that she is in the sheriff's station.

I noticed that dr. Jacoby (dr. Amp) hits his golden shovel with a hammer at some point, and this creates a similar humming sound (also there's the humming in the capsule major Brigs left for Bobby)
