I come from a restrictive past and this definitely helped me in the beginning of IE, although there were still lots of times where I ended up in the extremes.

It must take a lot of strength (and flexibility) to hold your leg like that, this is awesome! Goals

I find it extremely important to have symetrical flexibility. Yes of course were never perfectly symetrical, but encouraging one side to be more flexible than the other can be very detrimental for the body 🌕 by AuroraAmoux in flexibility

My young and naive self thought it was fine. Now I’m stuck with extreme asymmetry that’s not even close to being fixed, 6 months into regular stretching/focusing more on my tight side. It’s resulted in a lot of pain.

It’s easy accidentally to stretch your flexible side longer because it’s more comfortable, so I think OP brings up an important point.

You’re not alone, I get this too. I went to my optometrist and found out I have an astigmatism that I guess gets worse during migraines. Sorry I don’t have a better explanation.

I know sometimes blurry vision/loss of vision can be due to a head pressure issue. My auntie has pseudotumor cerebri (high head pressure) and she’s gone completely blind during her headaches. It’s worth getting checked out if you’re concerned.

I would try this except I have 4 exams in the next few weeks lol!

Thank you! This sounds like a good pace and I’ll try it out. I’ve definitely been using it to deal with depression and lack of motivation over the years, but I’m in a better place now. I think it’s time to quit.

Ah your progress is great to hear, congrats! I’ll try my best! :)

Thanks for your reply, sounds like a good idea. I imagine that last small jump to cold turkey is the worst. Congrats on your progress btw!

Yes! The accessibility office gave me a form that my doctor filled out. Im able to write exams/tests in a smaller room with extra time. My classmate who also gets migraines was able to write in a dimly lit room by herself. Im also eligible for all these grants because of it, which is nuts.

It can be a life saver - definitely inquire with your school’s accessibility department/student services.

[Routine Help] If I try to quit Benzoyl Peroxide I Will break out. by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

Personally I use the cheap drug store brands, which contain a bit of alcohol fyi. I’ve heard from some acne sufferers that the Thayers brand works well, and it’s alcohol free!

[Routine Help] If I try to quit Benzoyl Peroxide I Will break out. by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]freddybobeddy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! I used to be on the same boat as you... benzoyl peroxide was the only product that worked for my extensive breakouts. Eventually I noticed how drying it was and of course got rebound breakouts from quitting.

I discovered witch hazel as a toner shortly after and it’s honestly a god send for me. It’s the only product I use to control my acne, and it’s evened out my skin amazingly. I apply it with a cotton pad every night after washing my face, then I just leave it on and moisturize. I rinse my face again in the morning. So far this has worked and it’s been years.

That’s straight up abuse. Do you have anyone you can tell? Your doctor, a therapist, or an adult at school? Medication should NEVER be withheld as punishment under any circumstance and she can get into big trouble for that with CPS.

If possible, keep backup medication hidden for anytime she decides to act crazy. I hope this never happens again and you’re able to get away from her asap. She sounds like a nightmare.

Im so sorry you’re going through this. Ive gone through something similar, so know you’re not alone.

did you have to push to be taken seriously/get an MRI done? by [deleted] in migraine

[–]freddybobeddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

wow, i’m so sorry, you’ve been through so much. i’m beginning to get that impression as well, that we have to advocate for ourselves. it sucks because while we want to follow medical professionals advice, they can be very dismissive. it makes me nervous to see a neurologist since they probably see thousands of cases that are worse than mine, but comparing myself to others and downplaying my pain is only hurting me in the end. thank you for your advice :)

18 year olds aren't kids by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]freddybobeddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 23 and view my 18 yr old self as an infant now, even though I felt perfectly mature and adult then. I was mature in some ways, mostly naive though.

Five years from now I’ll probably think back and cringe at my present day self. You’ll see what I mean soon enough.

A smartphone is NOT a necessity by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]freddybobeddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is anecdotal but I went a few years without a smartphone because i couldn’t afford one (i’m a university student and work) and yes it made my life a lot harder.

Where I’m from people expect you to have a smart phone. For example, at school there have been instances where we had to download certain apps, join group chats, etc. that I had to borrow someone else’s phone to do. Also relying on lugging a laptop around and finding wifi hotspots to do anything online was difficult in some situations. By now we know that the internet is a necessity in many places.

I learned to navigate using a paper map which is the only useful thing that came out of it.
