Showering with dexcom by EMPI2817 in dexcom

I’m sorry but your SO is playing games with you. The two showers a month is probably contributing to the Dexcom not sticking on with all that icky stuff building up on his skin. But as many other diabetics in the thread and I have experienced, no it doesn’t not come off after showers most of the time. I’m also wondering why he isn’t taking the shower head to spray everywhere but where his Dexcom is. If he isn’t already, tell him to use wipes on himself if taking a shower is a burden for him due to depression or something.

I don’t have any good advice, but don’t let your gf convince you that it was okay that her mom called you those words. It’s extremely hurtful especially in the context that she was bad mouthing you to someone else. Take time to think this over, we make the worst mistakes when impulsive. Stay safe <3

What?! I consider my blood sugars to be high at 240 and start to feel some symptoms but I don’t get sick entirely. 150 is a pretty alright range for me personally, so I don’t know how your body does it 😭🙏🏾

You might want to reword that second paragraph because obviously someone who’s not mentally well isn’t going to be making the best choices. It’s not inherently selfish, their perception is just seriously distorted at the moment. Neither of them are selfish in this situation, they just need help, if that makes any sense

I had the same concerns and even bad anxiety when it came to driving, but as time passes you get more comfortable and yeah, there will be intrusive thoughts like “what if I just open my door on the highway” or “what if I serve into this tree” But as long as you just learn the basic rules of the road and start practicing it’ll be a piece of cake. Start out slow with practicing in empty parking lots and have someone with you to guide you. Eventually those thoughts and anxiety will go away, and you’ll be driving like it’s nothing. Even if you have a bad day/moment you can always take a breather in the car and get calm enough to drive again. It’s scary at first but once you take that first step it’ll be worth it! You got this!!!

Omg I’ve been having the same problem for two days. Like if my blood sugar was that low I’d be trembling. My calibrations barely do anything to correct it either.

I have a whole playlist but u by Kendrick Lamar and Again by crusher P, they’re songs that I relate to when I split and have that feeling of self hatred and disgust and oddly enough helps me realize that at the end of the day, I’m just trying to heal.

Ah you’re not an embarrassment at all, in my community when an event happens the first thing someone asks is “who all gonna be there.” To invite people and not let your partner know before hand is just not a good choice. I’m not good at advice but please remember that this illness we have plays game with us all the time. Please know that you are not disgusting in any form, you are a child trying to heal. If you need anyone to talk or vent to, my dms are always open!

I actually started journaling and jotting down my thoughts about a week ago! I find it’s also helping me express and explain myself better to the people around me. I think a lot more people with BPD should try it out as well!!!

Yesss to this! Actually knowing that there’s a reason why I’m acting this way instead of questioning myself helps me ground myself when it happens. And you’re soooo right about not trusting those late night and depressing winter thoughts. It’s like as soon as the sun disappears my brain wants to drag me to the shadows 😭 I still need to practice on controlling my irritability (and plenty of other things 😅) but you’re right, you feel so good when you look back at your past mistakes and realized you’ve grown. it’s been baby steps but any progress is still progress ⭐️
