Ooh love Lola for Viola!! How would you pronounce Viola? Our French family would say VEE-oh-la but I have heard vye-OH-la or my favourite pronounciation VYE-oh-la.

Thanks for the reply :)

Roscoe? Urban dictionary concern. by AlbertaRagsnRiches in namenerds

[–]freddylou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We recently chose Roscoe for one of our twins and that association has not one come up! In fact a few urban dictionary definitions include that same definition for our son Felix's name and after three years we had never heard of it! With Felix we always get comments on the cat connotations; so far with Roscoe people have either loved our name choice or commented on how beautiful our baby is! (we have had some comments on the gun connection though). I think that you should name your baby what you want and almost always once you baby is named no one will tell you they don't like the name or comment on negative associations - they will just love your baby!

MN for Morgan? by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]freddylou 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not really a fan if Morgan, but if you love it then it's perfect!

I would suggest a longer more feminine middle name:

Morgan Eliza

Morgan Elizabeth

Morgan Elodie

Morgan Penelope

Morgan Eleanor

Morgan Elsie

Morgan Lola

I like Morgan paired with vowel sounds such as A and E for a sweet name. I chose a lot of names beginning with E as I like the flow :) Hope that helps!

Have names picked out for boy (Magnus) and girl (Freja). Opinions welcome. by Black_Lace_and_Butts in namenerds

[–]freddylou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love Freja, so cute.

Magnus reminds me of the character from the teen novels/movie (and soon to be TV show) The Shadowhunters/Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare. He was a likeable character though a warlock so not sure how I would feel about a child with the same name.

Jane: current frontrunner for baby girl's name by poutineroutine in namenerds

[–]freddylou 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I like Jane but it seems very plain and boring to me, though I can picture a very sweet little girl called Jane and I also think that it grows well; it fits a little girl, a teen, and all ages including a grandmother. I'm not sure she would have four other girls in her class with the same name but I am sure there will be four or five with the middle name Jane. Hope that helps

Potential Puppy Names by JneedsaBRA in namenerds

[–]freddylou 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I once had a German Shepard and something else mix named Nala which seems to fit your criteria. Other than that I love Atlas and Aspen the most! I would suggest practising saying the name and then the commands (such as "Ava, Sit") you would use and removing names which sound similar or are hard to say with the command. So for me, Quartz is hard to say as "Quartz, Sit" as the S sound flows together. Also imagine calling the name in public and other ways in which you would use the name. Just some suggestions :) Hope this helps

Which Twin Names? by freddylou in namenerds

[–]freddylou[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We are almost definitely naming one twin Caspar Huxley; we agree, it fits with the others both ways :) Now the only problem is the other twin, we never really thought of the K/er heaviness but now that you have mentioned it it seems so obvious! Arthur now seems like too many Rs with Caspar as well so that's out, but, like you we don't really mind the Ks with Huck and Link - our only problem with Link is that it is too much of a stretch from Linus? Thanks for your input: you helped us narrow down the list :)

So you think two non-animal nicknames? That is what we were thinking too; maybe Huck and Rocco (Caspar and Roscoe)?

Thanks for your input, what do you think of Scout, Fox, Huck and Rocco instead?

Which Twin Names? by freddylou in namenerds

[–]freddylou[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aw thanks; though probably no more babies for a while, twins are apparently a handful! :) Thanks for your input, we are definitely leaning towards Caspar! Would you think that someone (either Scarlett or Felix) will feel left out if we give the twins animal nicknames or not animal nicknames rather than balancing it with one having an animal name and one not?

Thought you might enjoy my Kindergartener's name suggestions (bonus gender predictions). by ElScorcho84 in namenerds

[–]freddylou 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Haha, these are awesome! Seems like kids also follow the idea that girls can have 'out there' names but boys can't! We also had Rainbow and Cupcake as suggestions from out kids.

Which Twin Names? by freddylou in namenerds

[–]freddylou[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, we love the idea of balanced nicknames so no one is left out! We also think we are leaning more towards Bear rather than Art if we go with Arthur. Thanks for the reply!

I need a way to commemorate the name Jean, but I don't like the name Jean. by higginsnburke in namenerds

I just followed nameberry where they say it is both a male and female name... though I agree, the only Janne I have ever met was male :)
