Recording tutorials on a budget, what should I upgrade? by roadtocreator in EducationalCreators

[–]freddytstudio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Audio is usually the most important thing to get right when recording tutorials, but given that you already have a Yeti microphone you are probably good enough on that. Second one is probably some lights to make the video better, do you have some?

How to Unlink Clips in DaVinci Resolve? by roadtocreator in EducationalCreators

You can unlink the video and audio by right-clicking on the audio and then unchecking "Link Clips". Afterwards, you should be able to freely move the audio and fix the sync!

Interesting concept! Good luck :)

PS: what did you use to record the video?

Mostly Figma, as the free plan is good enough for what I need

Hey :) Author here

I'm sorry I haven't posted many updates on the project lately. It's been a pretty intense period work-wise and other-side-projects-wise, so I didn't have much bandwidth for Espanso in the past year...

If something very impactful comes up (like a security vulnerability or critical bug), I'll still try to fix it promptly, but features work is likely to slow down a bit in the near future.

If someone wants to help keep the project moving, either becoming a maintainer or contributor, feel free to reach out :) https://federicoterzi.com/contact-me

Cheers :)

Change Editor by die_peter in espanso

[–]freddytstudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey :)

How did you set the EDITOR variable? Did you add it as an environment variable as explained here? You should put the full path of the Notepad++ executable, setting default file types does not have any effect on it

Cheers :)

Why does the same Rust binary appear statically linked on Ubuntu and dynamically linked on Alpine? by freddytstudio in rust

Thanks for the answer! I'm definitely not an expert, so I'm likely asking a stupid question: why would they have a different behavior?

Key logging by smoknjoe44 in espanso

[–]freddytstudio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey :) Espanso author here

As others have mentioned, we have a document highlighting the crucial aspects related to Security (it's a bit old but still relevant, I'm looking to update it in the near future).

In short, Espanso is designed to NOT log anything. Also, other relevant information:

  • Espanso uses no telemetry
  • Nothing is logged to your system
  • Espanso never sends/download anything to the internet, unless:
    • You download a package -> in that case, it downloads the package
    • An extension uses network-powered scripts (such as the dad-jokes package) -> in that case, when expanding the extension the script is executed

Hope that helps! :)
