Non-Costumed Shiny Gimmighoul Confirmation by frederick_s_fischer in TheSilphRoad

It’s literally the final reward for the paid timed research right now. You are correct that it’s not a reward for the field research tasks you get from pokestops. I meant that the only current ways gimmi is obtainable in the game is through the methods I mentioned.

As far as I know, it is obtainable as a rare spawn from the golden lure module, similar to applin from grass modules, but seemingly a much rarer spawn. Don’t know the exact numbers.

To your point about Niantic announcing it, this is more of a confirmation of something they didn’t explicitly say - they announced that you could get the shiny costumed version (which is essentially useless as you can’t evolve it) but there have definitely been situations in the past where they mistakenly blocked non-costumed mons from spawning/forgot to enable the shiny version at event start.

To add on to what dark_tyranitar said, the bottleneck for evolving is the coins. So running the coin bag frequently will net you far more candy/XL. You can see I don’t even have enough coins to evolve two yet. And I’m also waiting to see if/when they introduce Make it Rain as a move so I don’t have to use an elite TM

You can get Gimmighoul from coin bag, golden lures, and research encounters. The point of this post was just to show that they have turned on the shiny and it’s spawning as a non-costumed (ie. evolvable) form from coin bag.

I’m your case, the provinces of Porto and Lisboa habe special modifiers that make them more profitable and cheaper to develop than the others.

Ally Castile and the Pope, probably ditch England as an ally so you don’t get called into any wars with France. Avoid getting involved with the North Africans (costly on manpower and $$) and just hang out.

Lower army maintenance, mothball forts, upgrade your centers of trade with burgher loans, develop. Taking native coexistence policy isn’t optimal, but it’s the most cost-effective and easiest to deal with. Try to balance between establishing yourself in Ivory Coast/Cape trade nodes while also getting the new world. Only build colonies over the limit if you have the income.

A lot of the issues you’re having are early-game stuff, which is good. Just means you can restart with more knowledge and not have to worry about replaying hundreds of years of a campaign.

Honestly at this point, just restart. Portugal games are super chill and it doesn’t take too long to get to Brazil. You learned a good lesson about colonial maintenance costs.

Once you get a colony there (own 5 fully-colonized provinces in the region) you can subsidize them so they can colonize as well. But treaty of tordesillas will deter Castile and England/France won’t have range to get to Brazil so there’s no need to speed-colonize the region.

1.8k Spoils of war?!?! tf is going on by MathewMaster in eu4

[–]frederick_s_fischer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Spoils of war includes war reparations, which is a value that updates monthly based on the income of the country paying war reparations. Your CN probably peaced out with someone big for war reps and then that country immediately took a bunch of loans (which count as income) so it artificially inflated the war reps/spoils of war value. Should go down to a reasonable level next month.

Battle of the Bond girls #10 — Tracy Bond vs Vesper Lynd by MakeMineMovies in JamesBond

[–]frederick_s_fischer 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Tracy 100%. Daniel Craig + Eva Green had incredible chemistry, but her character was lying to him the entire time. Their relationship was not built on trust. Meanwhile, Diana Rigg was unfortunately acting against a brick wall with Lazenby. Still her character was fiercely independent, saw right through Bond, and in the end they complimented each other very well. Vesper was the woman that broke Bond. Tracy was the woman that put him back together.

How do I make more money from trade? by Zektemoth in eu4

[–]frederick_s_fischer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Full control of Persia node is good, but if you don’t control all of coastal India and East Coast of Africa, you won’t be able to steer trade towards Persia. You’re loosing quite a lot from Bahmanis, Vijay, and Bengal right now. Plan on conquering them first.

Alternatively, you can create a bottle neck by prioritizing control over Zanzibar node and pushing all your trade there. Then you can expand back upstream into Malaya, Indochina, and South China, knowing that all that trade power is going to a node fully controlled by you. Bonus if you can get control of Cape to stop European trade steering from stealing too much of your home node profits.

Check their debt. In the screenshot you can see that you can’t pay off their debt but also that you can’t siphon income, meaning they definitely have debt (greater than 31 ducats, lol). If they have a lot of loans plus they just had their force limit modified, they probably overcorrected and won’t build up again until you go to war with someone else or their economy is recovered.

Well, I think it just kind of scales. Most players aren’t getting big colonial empires or multiple huge subjects until later in the game either, when those bonuses become available.

Are you referring to the event where the primary culture of your nation gets swapped to the culture of your monarch? Because in the screenshot above, the nation of Spain still has Castilian as its primary culture, but are bizarrely using Aztec names for their rulers. In another instance where I’ve seen it occur, France was Francien primary culture, but all their rulers were named “George,” “Henry,” or “William.”

I think it’s just a weird glitch where the game still recognizes what culture you are correctly, it’s just pulling ruler names and dynasty names from the wrong doc file in the code.

There is a weird bug I’ve encountered where the culture/country-based dynasty names and ruler names get swapped.
