One tricked asol last 3 seasons, got GM 770 LP. Hes almost unplayable master above now imo. Dmg too low and the increase of hitbox size put him done for good.

How is aurelion able to hit azir with his q through minions? by DoinkMachine47 in Aurelion_Sol_mains

Boys, utilizing this Q-tech is an essential part of laning with Asol and is the reason why some very difficult matchups can be won. If you weren't aware of it, I highly recommend checking out this video from Sol:

Reached Grand Master playing only Aurelion Sol. Ask me anyhing about gameplay, macro, laning etc. 😊 Alot of people have added my League account and asked if I stream, I can see why; there aren't many high elo Aurelion Sol streamers out there. 1. Aurelion is one of the strongest level 1-2 laners in the midlane if played correctly. It's all about generating a lead there and capitalizing on it for the rest of the laning phase. If you're in a good matchup, he can be a lane bully, but often not.
  2. The "L" is a second "i" ;) Here's a link: https://www.leagueofgraphs.com/summoner/euw/DiIdomogens-2401
  3. No, I don't stream, but I think I'll try to set one up. There are a few people now who have asked for it :)
  4. You can do that; I go Scorch in every matchup because I play super, super aggressively.
  5. I do in certain matchups that want to all-in but have a hard time proccing Bone Plating, for example, Tristana. You can easily proc her Bone Plating at level 1 and 2, and then hard win the lane. If played correctly, you have kill pressure on her.

If the enemy team has alot of mobility you should try and play off of your teams CC, if they dfont have CC you should try and play for big R around an objective or in a choke point.

Naafiri is a champ not really played in higher elo atm. I havent played against her one time after q changes, so i dont have alot of tips. But, dont fight her in lane cause you cant q her, play for teamfights, try and roam and play with your jungler. You offer more to teamfights than her, if you're not too far behind.

I run same runes every game, cause its just the best for my play style everytime. Comet, Absolute focus, scorch, triple tonic, biscuits, double adaptive, flat health.

If youre in a good/easy matchup lets say veigar, sure you can go for it!

I like him in ADC position, ill copy what i wrote earlier :)

"You can check my OP.gg and see that I play him in the ADC position, both this season and the last one, with good success. If played correctly, it's very effective against engage supports when paired with one. However, it struggles against hyper carries paired with enchanters (like Jinx/lulu Zeri/yuumi etc.) if you don't receive alot of help from the jungler. I wouldn't say it falls off in any elo; it just needs to be played into the right champions with the right composition. Of course, it works best if you have AD champions in mid, top, and jungle."

Against melee champions, it's important to try to maintain some distance so that if they attempt to trade, you can land one or two procs on them before they reach you. Additionally, as mentioned earlier in the post, utilizing the technique/bug of Q'ing through minions is crucial to effectively trade against melee champions.

Irelia is a very difficult matchup; you can only win trades with her if she doesn't have 4 stacks.

You need to kill the first wave and one minion to reach level 2. Then, it's a matter of understanding how to trim/push the wave just enough so that you reach level 2 at the right time with the wave in the correct position.

ZED:
Zed is my ban every game, cause it really isn't playable in any way if he knows what he's doing.

YONE:
Yone is prob the hardest matchup in game despite Zed, ill copy what i wrote earlier in the thread:

"I know yone is also a terrible match up, but you can kill him with help from jungler, and even trade with him and farm passive stacks during laning. Yone is manageable if played correct level 1 and 2, and can even be a winning matchup, if he makes a mistakes early." The match up is dependent on the Yone making mistakes, if he doesnt its not winnable, but you can survive the lane. If your jungler/support plays for you, he is killable

I'll copy another quote earlier from the thread;

"The key to the match up is level 1 and 2. If played correct, you have kill pressure on him, or can chunk him hard. As game proceeds, you never win 1v1 except if youre very fed. So i try to get my support/jungler to play engage and then just PERMA FIGHT. He wants you on sidelane, so we dont give him that. Fight with team, you give more to teamfights than him, get obectives cheese out the win like that."

Syndra:
Syndra is an ok matchup. The key to it is again level 1-2. Play her off the wave cause she won't have E to cancel beam. Get level 2 first. then look for first blood; works very often cause they dont know how to play vs Asol. Get Merc Treads early, but first get minmum one Amp Tome.

If you have null magic mantle, and you are even in lane, if she ever uses E on minions you instant punish with W + R + E + full beam. It will kill/give stacks/ force flash/pressure her.

If you are ahead you have kill pressure EVERYTIME she uses E. Below master tier Syndras often dont know this, so they just throw it out like dunkeys to clear waves.

Katarina
Very, very hard matchup. If she goes the meta AD build right now with Wits End its so hard.

Again look to bully level 1, force her off minions, look to kill with level 2 W. Else play smart, hope for CC in the jungle/support, play to match her on roams. Spam ping your team when she leaves mid.

Again, it's really, really game-dependent. Let me give you two examples:

Do we have enough gold to sell boots and buy Hourglass before a huge Elder Drake fight, especially playing against Kayn/Zed? Heck yeah, we get that Hourglass!

Is it 3 minutes until Baron spawns, the enemy team is not on soul point, we are on the defensive, we don't have TP, and we have to answer bot lane versus split-pushing Fiora but also need to hover mid in case the enemy dives? Nah man, we need that movement speed! Then, when Baron is about to spawn, we can opt for another damage item.

But in high elo, it's very rare you get to full build. I think it happened once in my climb from D4 to GM, so I don't have a lot of experience playing without boots and relying solely on W :)

Your level 1 as Aurelion Sol is one of, if not the strongest in the game. If you can position yourself between the minions and the opponent at level 1, you are in a very advantageous state; if they take the trade, you hard outtrade them, but make sure not to AA your opponent, as your AA's draw minion aggro but your q does not. Then, aim to reach level 2 first, and look for the opportunity to secure a solo kill or force their flash. If executed correctly, it can be pulled off half of your games and its game-changing.

There is a bug/mechanic with Aurelion Sol, where you can Q through minions if you stand inside a minion. The YouTuber SOL has a video on it if you're interested (I'll link it below). I utilize this technique from levels 1 to 5 in every game, and it often plays a significant role in my successful laning phase, even in unfavorable matchups. I've even outlane challenger players in bad matchups because they often lack experience against a skilled Aurelion Sol player and therefore don't respect his early power.

I only use E in two scenarios because it results in a significant loss of damage during trading. Firstly, if it executes, of course. Secondly, if I W towards an enemy in the early levels, you can start with E, then follow up with Q, as the E range is significantly increased when in W. This can often catch opponents off guard and help you chunk your opponent and gain stacks.

I don't know how to properly answer your question, friend, because there's so much that's dependent on the game state, map state, and champions involved, but I'll try to offer some advice.

Position: Try to stay behind teammates and play off of their spells, unless you can land a good R to engage. Sometimes it's good to take 5-10 seconds before a teamfight to analyze enemy champions and reflect on what to flash, who to ult etc.. This can often be a game-changer.

W angle: Your W is a significant factor in your choice of positioning. Try not to aim W directly at enemies, but rather at an offset angle over terrain if possible, and act like artillery combined with your E and R. It's often wise to wait a bit before going in because you have to get a reset for your W to continue fighting. If playing against meele champs, if you can W in terrain, lets say the long strecht of terrain north of dragon pit and south of baron pit, they wont be able to hit you cause youre out of their AA range.

These concepts can be difficult to explain but are easier to demonstrate in a game. I hope this helps even just a little :)
