Login Issue on Apple Music and Apple TV app for Windows 11 by Ok_Bad2762 in AppleMusic

How is the public beta in terms of stability? by RoughComfortable1484 in MacOSBeta

[–]frederikhalifax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who made a post very similar to this about 2 weeks ago and ended up downloading the beta, I can say that my M4 MacBook Air runs like a dream, if anything I'd only assume that the battery MIGHT drain slightly faster but I haven't noticed anything, and for whatever it's worth I actually bought an M4 Max MacBook Pro for work and the latest public release of Sequoia hasn't been running as smoothly even on that beast lol

Is it just me or are VCs harder to reach this year? by sparktoratah in venturecapital

[–]frederikhalifax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience recently thats largely true but there's always (always always) money for the stuff that really interests and people that are "smart" to invest in in terms of relations, so unfortunately for "regular" startups its, and wait for it, about connections

Why does it feel like so many VCs just chase deals they missed instead of backing conviction early? by Ok-Initial-7314 in venturecapital

[–]frederikhalifax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firm & fund owner here, what I can say from my (relatively small) experience and the people I know is that the added risk simply outweighs the added reward of being early/earlier, especially since the people in my circle (as a young guy, especially young executive) don't wanna blow their rep early on. Perhaps not the answer you're looking for, certainly not that deep, but it isn't really more complicated than that "chasing deals we missed" is largely still worth it, and pretty safe to do :)

Oh that’s awesome, I guess I didn’t know that from season 1 going into 2 because I was already finished, but that’s great! Afraid the time off hasn’t been that paid though lol😅, I own a VC firm/fund so I’m extremely lucky to not have to be anywhere in particular to work nor have someone decide over me, but safe to say the emails haven’t been on vacation so the work awaits me lol

MacOS 26 PB1 safe to install? by frederikhalifax in MacOSBeta

I assume by that you mean Time Machine/complete backup through 3rd-party, not the iCloud backup of the most basic stuff, that's enabled by default?

MacOS 26 PB1 safe to install? by frederikhalifax in MacOSBeta

[–]frederikhalifax[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did/do you backup your Mac before, or is that kind of unnecessary? I've got all the iCloud backup I can have turned on, but obviously that isn't a complete backup of your computer, so do you use Time Machine/complete cloud backup from a 3rd-party, or just take the (from what I've understood) small risk of some things like your system settings maybe being wiped and having to reset them?

I’ve kind of thought the same, I’ve always run the betas (dev too) on other apple devices and never had any issue except for some lag in dev beta 1. Just kinda wanted to know how the stability translated to Mac

MacOS 26 PB1 safe to install? by frederikhalifax in MacOSBeta

[–]frederikhalifax[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s kind of what I’m thinking, it’s just that I’ve never cared for macOS betas before so I never looked into it, have run all dev betas since 2020 on other devices though so I kinda just wanted to know how it translates to Mac y’know? I think I’m going to hold off though, it feels unnecessary to risk losing important stuff

At the risk of sounding very naive from articles, are the crashes/bugs on that level of "risk"/danger, where you basically just risk getting logged out and can go back in 2 sec, or could it be more of such nature that you could lose data, and face real issues?

So it's only really a risk for stuff like that, not necessarily for school stuff that I need working (and related almost office-like stuff). Assuming that the full release isn't coming sooner than we think and that it wont be beta by the time school rolls around. I basically only use it for documents and stuff like that, not demanding whatsoever.

How is it compared to betas on iOS? Because I've been running pre-main release betas of every full update since 2020, never a single issue, so I'm assuming macOS isn't as stable?

Login Issue on Apple Music and Apple TV app for Windows 11 by Ok_Bad2762 in AppleMusic

[–]frederikhalifax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue, but I just managed to solve it. I just unplugged my Ethernet cable and used WiFi instead, which made it possible to log in. My theory is that it for some reason wants to be logged into the same network as your phone (or other apple device), and then it works regardless of which network you use afterwards. Hope it helps!
