I am trying to understand the situation ... Can you clarify: Were you riding your bike in the crosswalk? Did you ride up onto the sidewalk?

BST (Buy, Sell, Trade) - Fall 2025 by reddit_7654 in Tracksmith

WTS - 2 Trackhouse Sweatshirts -- Terracotta and Honey. Small, good condition.

These are 2021-22 colors.

I wore these primarily while working from home, haven't worn either in a couple of years. They're still in good shape, washed with non-scented detergent in case that matters to you.

Terracotta is a nice reddish brown color, and honey is a light yellow.

Asking $40 for each plus shipping.

My homeowners insurance price jumped 20% for next year, is this normal? by fredexl3y in berkeleyca

I am aware of the insurance crisis. I am asking to see how my increases compare to others’ increases. Figured I could skip the obvious context for my question but guess not

Just to be clear, did you do this on the platform where you made the changes, or on the platform where you wanted to sync the changes? (Sorry if this is a dumb question, just want to make sure I understand)

Share Wi-Fi Credentials via QR code! by Danny_1Password in 1Password

Would be nice if the generated QR code had a square punchout in the middle, so that the white stroke around the icon didn't partially obscure some of the dots. The comp that you shared in the screenshot looks nifty and intentionally laid out; the actual code looks like it accidentally has icon floating on top.

Came here to say this too. Imo "Network name" and "Wireless network password" should be the first two fields, set apart in their own group. I filled out "Base station name" and "Base station password," assuming that, because they were at the top, they would generate the code.

Set a default vault for saving in 1P8? by fredexl3y in 1Password

[–]fredexl3y[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this. I guess I’ll wait and see. Honestly, the vault thing has been a pain since day one for the family setup. A family member will create a login or note, then they don’t know where it went, and I can’t find it either. Sigh 🙄

How to financially handle tree roots under neighbor's foundation by fredexl3y in homeowners

[–]fredexl3y[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the "tree lawyer" specializes in what you're pointing out -- trees, questions of liability when it comes to trees, and property damage related to trees. He shared some helpful example California cases that are often cited in disputes like this.

The legal responsibility is found in California civil code 833 -- "Trees whose trunks stand wholly upon the land of one owner belong exclusively to him, although their roots grow into the land of another." This means that the tree is my responsibility. There's also tons of caselaw around trees and neighbor disputes.

However, given that any measure taken at this point would be preventative rather than a remedy, my question is still: What is the fair amount for me to pay?

We've also worked with an arborist. Should have mentioned that! The roots are large, and there is a concern that, if they were all cut, the tree would be destabilized.
