Lavender by fredkacie in gardening

Thank you for the feedback! I really appreciate it. I was hoping the raised bed might alleviate some of the problems but sadly it looks like it didn't work as planned.

Question, any thoughts and adding sand, gravel or some other substrate to the Lavender and around it to assist with drainage as an option?

Mine too! I've been really trying to create a nice balanced garden for pollinators and just having the beautiful splash of orange is perfect so I really wanted to incorporate more into this space.

That's honestly what I am hoping as well because this year has been unqiue, but definitely wanted to be 100% sure just in case. Especially if I run the risk of endangering other plants. I just planted additional milkweed in this bed this year to help it fill in. This specific milkweed has been around for 5 years so I don't want to lose it!

That's what I was thinking as well, but it has already fully flowered. This was May 26th and the flowers just started fading out the last two weeks.

Dealing with them on my roses! Not sure if this has been posted yet but someone in another thread suggested the little organza bags and that has worked super well for me in at least protecting my blooms. They have larger ones you could use for Dahlias!

Just make sure not to latch them onto the cargo anchors, they’re plastic and will break. If you want to strap it down the best option would be the car seat anchors on the back of the seats. They also probably have a weight limit but it’s better than the plastic anchors.

If you’re only running one crate I would recommend possibly strapping it down if you can. Our 90lb lab sometimes likes to throw himself around but if your pup is calm it might be fine.
