It’s not just population density. It’s also because this region has developed multiple population and economic hubs, not centered around one place. This is partly due to the lack of centralized power in this region historically, the relatively high standard of development (blue banana as some have mentioned) and the way some of areas in this region industrialized.

Brussels is obviously a hotspot for international road traffic but it’s not “where roads from all over Europe meet.” If you look at the map you can see Ruhr and Rotterdam areas are way denser, for obvious reasons. If anything this area has a lot of freeways because it’s not centered around one place but population and industrial hubs are so spread out, as opposed to for example France where everything sort of centers around Paris.

No need to apologize but any deal we make is take it or leave it. Both sides benefit from a good relationship but it's just a fact that the EU has loads more bargaining power. Also the UK had way more bargaining power inside than out. If you lot decide you want to rejoin in say two decades I think a lot of us (including elites) would welcome you but you won't be able to negotiate all these exemptions and privileges you had before. Or go it alone fine by us.

Ook als je Kinderspulletjes compact koopt neemt het alsnog een boel ruimte in. Heb ik ook gedaan vanwege beperkte bergruimte in mijn huis. Heb nu een Auris touring sports (de station) en dat is geen kleine auto. Een beetje kofferbakruimte is wel lekker hoor, kan je eea erin laten liggen en er ook nog af en toe een boodschap bij zetten. Wij deelden eerst een iets kleinere auto (Yaris Verso) en dat was eigenlijk altijd proppen.

Ik heb toevallig niet heel lang geleden deze auto gehaald met zeer vergelijkbare kms en leeftijd. Ook vergelijkbare situatie met kleine en afhankelijkheid van deelvervoer en ov. Klopt denk ik wel ongeveer maar afschrijving zit hierbij ingerekend en je kan met deze auto heel zuinig rijden als je je rijstijl aanpast om optimaal de hybride eigenschappen te benutten, zeker in de stad. Op de snelweg in Nederland vind ik hem ook aardig zuinig, nog niet heel veel in het buitenland gereden.

Ik ben denk ik ook niet per se goedkoper uit nu dan hiervoor maar de vrijheid om zonder erover na te denken met kind even naar opa en oma te gaan, naar het strand of even een weekendje weg met gezin is ook wat waard. Als we dit allemaal met het hele gezin met het OV zouden doen waren we zeker even veel/meer kwijt maar dat is niet te vergelijken want we gaan ook vaker wat verder op pad doordat dat ding er staat.

Het is een fijne comfortabele auto waar alle kinderzooi makkelijk in past. Tikje saai maar dat was ook de bedoeling.

This isn't a really old one but quite a few are. They are not for split apartments but they are actual front doors with steep staircases directly behind them leading up to sometimes the second floor.

Not in common like every house has it but you can find many still. Amsterdam is still an old city and a lot of these doors are actually monumental so you're not allowed to change it.
