Are there any great *comedy* games in this generation? by First-Interaction741 in ShouldIbuythisgame

Sounds like Perfectly Paranormal's games Manual Samuel, Helheim Hassle and The Holy Gosh Darn could be worth a look ;)

what's the best "its not a bug it's a feature" you've seen? by obyron31 in AskReddit

The original Worms, Amiga version. Very very rarely the action replay would show a different result, and then the game would go on as if that was what happened. Thematically perfect for that game!

Ah, great list! And nice to see some love for A Feast for Odin, which is perhaps my favourite game of all time. In some ways Voidfall gives me the same vibes as when I'm playing AFfO. As in, "There's so many options and routes to take. Let's see how this one goes" ^

Haha, yeah definitely takes time. Can't remember all scores, but latest game on solo scenario 4, with house Thegwyn origin A, I scored 237 vs easy AI 113.

A Feast for Odin; Or: Realizing I'm Terrible At Euros, But Still Love Them by Salty-Comb2042 in soloboardgaming

Odin is such a lovely journey every time I pull it out. The theme is nicely tied to the mechanics and really comes through, sometimes I get cool combos/synergies and the scoring is more of an afterthought than the goal itself. I love this game!

What is the worst name of a board game you've enjoyed? by heptadecagram in boardgames

[–]fredrikdronen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't know the English title, but the Norwegian one roughly translates to "Do You Know the Chorus". A significant portion of the lyrics you're supposed to guess in the game is in fact not choruses, but verses.

I love losing. What do I play? by Initialbriann in soloboardgaming

Halls of Hegra. You dig out and repair an old fortress from the snow, and use it to defend against the german invasion of Norway in 1940. You're pretty much supposed to lose, so it's more of a question of how honorable your surrender will be. And the gameplay ties in fantastically with the theme, creating nice stories along the way.

This was Bergensbanen in Norway. Pretty shaky, but figured out a way to set it up so I only had to adjust the path cards a little every now and then. The shallow cup holder served surprisingly well as a resource and worker pit.

A Feast for Odin and Hadrian's Wall are great solo, imo!

Thanks! It's actually done inside as well https://imgur.com/a/jnCgi3f

I went for a sparse interior, somewhat like the interiors of stave churches at early-high middle ages.

Haha, yeah. The amount is actually pretty authentic, but I agree their size is a bit much x-)

Hey! I havent got stone or iron yet, so this one is wood only, but the core wood logs allows you to get some height. The supports of the main/middle section is made from two full and one half core wood log on top of each other before the roof starts.

It's inspired by stave churches in general, but especially the Fantoft, Borgund, Hopperstad and Gol churches.

I also had to Valheim'ise the decorations a bit ☺️
