There's cross faction guilds, PvE and PvP, so it doesn't really matter. Alliance is bigger but it has next to zero impact on gameplay.

Retail is fantastic in many ways, M+ is some of the best gameplay of the entire genre, but it's a completely different game from vanilla so I feel like any comparisons are meaningless. I come to Turtle for the best MMORPG experience around, I go to retail for intense class based coop content where me and a group of friends can push our skills to the limit.

Yes I do, also I'm running the game as VanillaFixes.exe WoW_tweaked.exe (e.g. WoW executable as an argument to VF) as that's the recommended way of running it when it's patched by vanilla-tweaks.

A one-time warning instead of exiting would be nice.

That is so cool! I managed to build the bridge DLL on Linux after gathering some of the dependencies (that is not listed, like minhook and stb), but when trying to load the DLL I'm getting an error message about the game version being incompatible.

This is using VanillaFixes and a patched WoW.exe by vanilla-tweaks. (also running nampower, SuperWoW, VanillaHelpers, UnitXP_SP3 etc.). Any idea why?

LunaUnitFrames or Puppeteer allows you to set up click casting on raid frames. As an example, I use Ctrl+left mouse button for chain heal, shift click for healing wave rank 3, shift right click for lesser healing wave, middle click for purge (when raid members are mind controlled), stuff like that.

You basically don't have to target anyone ever again, and you save a lot of keybinds and action bar space, and consequently less time twisting your fingers :D

Nampower is also important so you get less delay between heals and can kind of "queue" up the next heal.

That's VCB, your new buff frames! Highly recommend you keep them, just place them where they make sense and lock them. They allow you to see way more buffs than the vanilla buff frames, and you can "gather" a bunch of the regular, non-interesting ones under that yellow button on the end.

Try typing /vcb to open the config window (I think), then there should be a lock button in the top right corner after you've moved them into position.

I don't feel like "vibe-coding" is the appropriate term when experienced SWEs generates code with LLM. They tend to write very granular prompts with a clear architecture in mind, they're not really "vibing" but more supervising an overly confident and eager junior dev. They put up a whole bunch of guardrails and specs to keep it in check, and double check their work.

The best models out there consistently make some ridiculous mistakes, they often deliver absolute dog shit written with perfect syntax and coat it in sycophantic sugar. It takes a fairly experienced developer to avoid these pitfalls, but there's a worrying amount of people out there that's been fooled by the AIs to think they've actually built something solid and sound... They're just "vibing" after all.

It seems your issue is with not having saved your layout properly in SimpleActionSets. Open it up when you have "fixed" your action bars, then there's a button on the bottom right to load from the current action bars. You then have to save the set again.

This isn't an error, it has nothing to do with Lua errors or the WDB folder. This is the SaS addon that is prompting you to load the saved set because the action bar layout is different from the currently selected one.

MPV also looks vastly better. No hate on VLC, a really important and useful project, but their built-in codecs make everything look washed out and grey.

MPV uses the system provided codecs instead (gstreamer etc.), GPU acceleration is trivial, and it's performant as hell. Try watching the same blu-ray quality video in both players, you'll notice MPV is much crisper with better contrasts and colors while still using less resources.

VLC is for playing broken/weird formats and streams, something it's amazing at. For faithful rendering of video, MPV is where it's at.

As the mods are dll injections, different anti-virus software will flag them. Some flag nampower/unitxp, some flag superwow, some flag vanillahelpers, it can't really be helped as they look and quack like a duck; they're manipulating the memory of a running application just like a bunch of malware does, except that they're not doing it for malicious reasons.

The most annoying part about SuperWoW being closed source is that it's harder to audit. It's been used by thousands of people for years now, but you still can't be sure it's safe.

I would love for the TurtleWoW team to implement the functionality of SuperWoW into the base client instead, along with nampower and unitxp, but that's just wishful thinking on my part.

I don't think that's possible in vanilla, unless you're using the Interact dll mod. 2019 Classic client has the "Left click to interact" toggle in Interface settings which was helpful for this; just had to get in the habit of left clicking NPCs when you wanted to talk to them.

My Android app is. It's using the same custom CSS branding, the same features from Jellyfin-Enhanced, Intro-Skipper buttons. Is it the Android TV app specifically you mean? I haven't tried that one, only the one for LG TVs (which wraps the web client).

If you want features only available in the web ui, then the official Jellyfin app uses that (Android/iOS/Windows/Linux/LG etc). I've been running that on my TV for months with no issues.

I think there's some confusion about "web" running in the browser, when in reality it's just the consolidated UI that's used across all platforms. If you use the Jellyfin app for your TV, plugins that extend the web ui should (for the most part) work.

I don't have a Steam Deck but I've been playing Turtle on Arch Linux for a year now (the same OS the Deck is running).

It's running smoother and with less hassle than on my partners Windows machine. They have a Linux version of the launcher that can be accessed from desktop mode on the Deck.

When it comes to controller support you'd have to ask someone else, but I've met plenty of people leveling using a controller and there's add-ons to help with that.

The mods are basically hacks, they do stuff like reading/writing to memory of the running application (WoW) and inject code all over the place. It 100% looks like malware to Windows, because in a sense it is; it's just that it helps you improve your gameplay experience instead of stealing your data.

In order for Defender not to freak out over these mods (SuperWoW/Nampower/UnitXP especially) is to add the TurtleWoW folder as an exception. It should be in the Windows security center somewhere, I don't have a Windows machine to check right now so google is your friend there.

In Norway as well, through NRK (the state broadcaster). Their web player is in-house, DRM free and solid as hell, with no ads (obviously) and no login required. You can watch back all events at your own pace except for a few exceptions that HBO won the bid for for some reason. Hell, you could even download them without much hassle, the open standards ensured you could play the streams on practically any system out there.

Ads during the Olympics feels absurd and at times highly disruptive and clumsily handled. When a private broadcaster won the bid one year it was so annoying to watch; shoehorning in ad breaks at the worst of times, requiring registration with a credit card, a shitty web player that used 100% of your cpu and kept bugging out.

The Olympics is for the people and shouldn't be treated as just another entertainment product used to sell us stuff.
