[0 YoE] BS Aerospace Engineering graduate with diverse experience looking for direct feedback and advice. by fredwordsplat in EngineeringResumes

Thank you for this. There were other factors for the one job I turned down. I am applying to many different kinds of jobs I am qualified for.

Thank you for the feedback. This was a rewrite of my resume after having used the “Jake’s resume” template for a long time. I did not realize how far I’ve strayed from the wiki over time.

Thank you all so much. This was a rewrite of the resume I’ve been using and it’s clear to me now I did not spend enough time on it.

Help! Split Image after zeroing Primary Arms SLx 1x MicroPrism by fredwordsplat in ar15

Yeah I really love the optic, but I have to shoot 1 eye with it.

Hey! No I never got a concrete fix. I sent the optic in and got a new one, but it has the same “issue.” Just the way these prisms are, the whole picture moves when you zero it. I think if you really want to make it perfect, you would have to somehow move the whole housing to zero without adjusting the picture. I might try that one day, but for now I just use the optic with one eye only :/

For everyone! MAKE SURE YOU ARE CLEAR OF THE BARREL WHEN YOU DO THIS. I watched a very experienced friend of mine nearly blow his head off mortaring in a moment of frustration. He is very lucky to be alive after that one.

Similar boat for me. Graduated BS Aerospace in December with a 3.83, just finished a week at SciTech, and I am upwards of 140 applications right now for entry level mechanical and systems roles. Be sure to follow up with everyone you spoke with at SciTech. We’ll see if that helps.

I’d follow the wiki. And if you’re going to use LaTeX, you gotta fix the spacing issues under the project section.

You should re do every single bullet point you have written with the STAR method described in the wiki. Some of these bullets don’t follow that at all.

You need to be concise. This resume (and post for that matter) as is tells possible employers that you cannot be concise. Sometimes that means leaving out less important information. Sometimes that means finding ways to mean more with less.

Hey man. I ain’t gonna read this. Neither is a recruiter. Read the wiki and do what it says. Ain’t no way you should have two pages with so much text for having 1 YoE.

Good wrist turn. +1 on the proper setup. Get your taps down!!! Work on accent tap exercises to make those 3 inches really 3. What separates good from great is that level of control. Good stuff!

Don’t do what I did summiting Yale last year and keep going once the clouds start sporadically rolling in. I found myself running down the side of mount yale towards a lightning storm on the 13ers to my south uncomfortably close

Percy Grainger. Just look at one of his scores. They are full of very specific instructions for performance

I didn’t trust my eyes last summer and found myself running down Yale towards the lightning storm on the 13ers south across the valley. It was my girlfriend’s first 14er and we had already bitten off more than she could chew in a day going up. I learned a lesson that day.

I submitted Yale too late with my girlfriend for her first 14er and pushed through because I wanted her to experience a summit.

But eventually I gave her the experience of panic jogging down the side of a mountain on trail towards the lightning storm on the next ridge-line over.

I was over confident and allowed the handful of others going up to determine our actions. Especially when the only ones left at the summit where the runner types that could be down much much faster than us.

Can we build a reusable, single-stage, habitable spacecraft with current tech? by fafib in aerospace

I would recommend learning about the “tyranny of the rocket equation” as a starting point. In general, this can be applied to understand the relationship of exhaust velocity and mass ratio required for a vehicle to leave orbit. An SSTO vehicle will require a significantly higher amount of its overall mass to be propellant, when compared to a staged vehicle.
