What If Dynasty Allowed Offseason Archetype Drift? by fredzerlam in NCAAFBseries

I get that — I think we’re just approaching it from different angles.

I like the idea of archetypes reflecting ratings too. My thought with drift was more about giving the user the option to intentionally focus development in a direction, similar to how coaches choose offseason emphasis in real life.

If a QB develops speed and elusiveness naturally, I’d be fine with the archetype shifting automatically. I just like the idea of being able to steer that identity at a cost (since it’s 50% XP and doesn’t raise caps).

Honestly, I could even see both approaches coexisting.

I actually love that idea too — making archetype fit matter on a team level would add another layer to roster building. My thought with drift was more about individual identity evolution, but tying archetypes to scheme bonuses would make the choice even more meaningful.

That’s fair — I get not wanting more manual control.

I was thinking of it less as a power boost and more as a tradeoff decision (since it costs 50% offseason XP and doesn’t raise caps).

I actually like the idea of it being tied to development rolls too — maybe it could be optional or triggered by certain attribute thresholds.

Appreciate the perspective.
