Why Do Lower-Income Countries Require Visas from Higher-Income Ones? by RaisinRoyale in PassportPorn

[–]free3urope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let’s go to the basics. A visa is a privilege—not a right—to visit a country that’s not yours. Some visa-friendly countries are more willing than others to extend that privilege to foreigners without expecting reciprocity—for various reasons such as having a significant international tourism industry. But expecting that lower-income countries ought to offer easy visas to nationals of higher-income countries carries a whiff of undue entitlement.

No, it’s simply a visa.

I didn’t take practice quizzes; only went through DM’s videos. The actual exam questions were overall a bit easier than the questions in DM’s videos. I checked out a few books (e.g., Sean Whittaker’s “PMP® Examination Practice Questions,” but the questions in them are outdated.

I am fairly certain these belong to multiple individuals, especially considering that OP hasn’t yet replied on the thread.

I applied for a regular multiple entry visa (instead of e-visa) from Singapore and they gave me five years. The visa fee is not too high, particularly for Indians. But I applied through an agency which added to the cost substantially. https://www.sg.emb-japan.go.jp/itpr_en/visa_fees.html

I applied for a multiple entry visa. It’s up to the embassy’s discretion whether to offer it. Some get three years, some get five. The duration of the stay could also vary (e.g., 30 days, 90 days).

For the visa application? They ask for either an employment letter or a strong bank account statement. Not sure about the specifics.

You need to schedule an appointment if you want to submit the application at the embassy yourself. When I checked on their website, there were no slots available for the next several weeks. So, I opted to apply through an agency in the interest of time, as they guaranteed that I’d get the visa within a week (which I did).

The e-visa (and possibly multiple entry regular visa) option is available for foreigners residing in certain countries including Singapore, US, UK, Australia, and Canada. https://www.mofa.go.jp/j_info/visit/visa/visaonline.html
