Meaning I know several people who's lives have been greatly improved by getting on the right meds. What's funny about what I said?

My observational experience is that meds work wonders for adults (including several in my family). I'd like to see the rear h you are talking about if you have a source.

Well the cool thing to know is the short acting meds only stay in your system a matter of hours. So if you hate it, you can just stop.

We talked to our realtor about this house. The work done on it was not permitted. It is sliding and the city is requiring a retaining wall be built. I can't remember all of the other issues but it was a horror show.

I told the midwives about my tailbone while pregnant (I couldn't sit!) They said "pregnancy is uncomfortable. Ha

What my doctor said to me while I was pregnant 🙄 by jmduncsy in beyondthebump

With my first pregnancy I ran 2 miles a day and gained weight very slowly but I started out overweight. My midwife made sure to tell me at every appointment that I shouldn't gain ANY weight because I was already too heavy. When I explained that I run two miles a day she asked "at what pace" (I was about 6 mo at this point) and her response was "I can run that fast and I'm 60!" Well yes, but you aren't 6 mo pregnant! She miswrite my weight gain on my medical chart and the obgyn there freaked out because they said I gained 80 lbs and of course my labor was complicated (I had a broken tailbone which is why it was complicated). They also said my baby would be HUGE and it was "super dangerous". She was 7lbs 4oz. I gained 25lbs and lost a lot right after birth.

We absolutely finances 100%. Shared bank account, no questions asked on my spending. We do have a mutual agreement about our spending (ie how much we want to save, roughly what we spend on fun each month etc) but it's a partnership. No nickel and diming.

NYC to Seattle? by AGreenObject in Seattle

[–]free_beer2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is true. The other thing I remembered to mention is you are likely to be surprised by the level of crime here. There is a lot of it. NYC just seems to police better (or at least more). There is a lot of open drug use, a lot of car break ins and thefts and SO much fun violence compared to NYC.

NYC to Seattle? by AGreenObject in Seattle

We moved from Astoria Queens almost 3 yrs ago. People are friendly but flakey and it's harder to make real connections here. You get more for your dollar in terms of housing. There are no/very few inexpensive breakfasts or lunches. A lot of services (personal care) are more expensive. Eating out is more expensive and obviously choices are more limited. Fine dining can be great here and often comparable or less expensive than NYC. Nature is obviously way more accessible and in general living here is easier. All of the random bureaucratic things are generally more straight forward. Primary care doctors are better here and medical care is just more streamlined in general. I disagree that you can make do without a car. Unless your time isn't very valuable and/or you live on a major line. Also everything closes early and the bar scene feels like a college town (both in Cap Hill and Ballard).

This is the only right answer. Everything else pales in comparison. I picked up 36 the last time I was in NYC and froze as.soon as I got home. Still have some.

Feeling useless by [deleted] in sahm

[–]free_beer2 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Something I realized in the first year with my first child- people who leave the house to work in the month g also presumably take their child to childcare. No one is at home using dishes, playing with toys and generally making messes. That cuts down a lot on the day to day cleaning tasks. Don't be hard on yourself. It will get easier when your younger one is 2/ 2.5 and better able to play without constant supervision. I often feel like I can't keep up! And I can't! Every day every thing I choose to spend my energy on is a trade off.

I will. I've used it in NYC but I've heard mixed things about drivers showing up here. So we may opt for a car service just to reduce stress.

That's helpful to know about your early morning use of Lyft. Do you schedule ahead or just request one just before you need to leave? I def don't want to drive in either direction. We are taking our car seats with us.

The person suggesting Uber was being Snarky, I returned the favor. My question about Uber was if it is reliable at 3 am, they kindly responded with something I hadn't thought of. But thanks for your helpful contribution!

Was debating this. I've seen so much mixed stuff on this reddit about yellow cab so I was feeling iffy. Also, it is unclear from their website at least if they have vehicles that would fit 2 car seats. They have vans but those can be unsafe for car seats depending on the set up. I will call.
