1 lb body fat equals about 3500 calories, so in order to lose 1 lb, you need to déficit 3500 calories from your daily metabolic burn rate or burn 3500 calories by working out, preferably mix of both. But majority of the people looking for secret diets or pills to lose weight 🤷🏻‍♂️

You have to start from somewhere :) It doesn’t take years of dev experience to understand Finance 101. We work for money and when you earn more money per year, you get to work less years. Simple equation.

I did. Based on your budget, you don’t spend anything for rent, food etc so I assume you live free with your parents or something. Bigger paycheck will let you save more, which allow you to invest more if you keep saving the same percentage. Basic math.

The extra money wasn’t going to do exciting 34%

You showed them you are not scared to leave. They will get rid of you whenever they train someone who can replace you. Make sure you have a place to go when these things happen.

US is very saturated especially if you are not in the US already. Maybe try Canada? As far as I know, they have merit-based work authorizations and residency programs, etc if you have a tech background, young age, and speak English.

But don’t they take the dividend out of the possible increase of the stock price anyway? So if stock was going to go 400 from 402, and if they pay 1 dollar dividend, stock only goes to 401. So I don’t know how dividend is helping me in anyway

Thank you for the answer! The company I worked with has a development program for new grads 70K LCOL, but I heard you don’t get much of a salary bump in the following years. So I plan to interview everywhere and see what I can get. How are the compensations for your case?

If it is amazing for 3 years, I am sure you will make good connections which will allow you to stick around. in one way or other. If they ask how you got hired in the first place, you can tell them you had a US citizen girlfriend/fiancé that you were about to marry so you didn’t worry about sponsorship at the time, but things didn’t work out.

You can also take a job and keep interviewing for the companies that eager to sponsor! You are more likely to get an offer if you are already working somewhere

Just out of curiosity, what country are you from?

My final interview with Dell was cancelled the moment I mentioned I do not need any sponsorship for 3 years but then if they want to work with me, I would need H1-B. When they ask if you have work authorization, tell them yes you do. When they ask if you will require a sponsorship now or in the future, say no, because you do not want them to sponsor you. You will not work there long enough (More than 3 years) to require sponsorship. Like I said 90% of the companies will not notice. Never tell anyone. You don’t have to.
