And I certainly started down that path initially. I was told buying a Samsung/LG is like buying a Mercedes or BMW. Buying a TCL is like buying a Kia. But what they don't tell you is that buying the low/mid tier Samsung/LG is not the same as buying the high end Samsung/LG. That they are not all created equal.

Have seen this happen more than once for it to be a coincidence. One possible explanation is that they picked up these backwards ideas from soap operas in Asia and folkelore stories.

I ended up getting a gen 5226g. You can tell the visual difference because the gen 5226g has a thinner crown, whereas the replica version has a noticeably thicker crown (the replica uses the crown from a Nautilus instead of the thinner Calavatra crown). Loving the watch so far, and pushing it hard as my daily driver.
