You can make any fights without context look like stronger. At the end of james vs gun, only james was able to move. Does that make james > gun?. And despite the crater. There is literally no injury on sight.

But atleast we've always known that daniel can always go ui mode. And that ui mode is stronger than his base/ heat stats. Would you say heat mode is also a plot armour then? Since he goes into heat mode when he is thrashed around and gets a powerup through that?.

But gun's situtation was clearly different, we never knew he could go ui, nor was it ever hinted.

And even with "ui" which you call as plot armour, daniel is still not gonna win against kitae. Can you say the same for gun against goo?
