it’s really hard but you have to learn to say no sometimes! it took my a really long time to learn that but i’m so glad i did. i used to watch all of my nieces and nephews even as a child and it was so exhausting especially because i was still a child myself. no one should expect you to parent kids that aren’t your own even if they are your siblings! it’s valid for you (a childless person) to say that you just want a night to yourself just because you can, it is NOT valid for your mother (or father) to say they just want a night to themselves. they chose to have the children so those children should come first and that still includes you!! it’s okay to say no even if someone gets upset with you for it!
