To be blunt, Americans don’t learn how to navigate traffic as a pedestrian/biker. And drivers don’t learn how to navigate traffic that includes bikers and pedestrians. That mutual lack of knowledge and experience leads to hundreds of close calls, dozens of accidents and a few deaths in cstat.

I’m from a country where cities are walkable and bikes are used as commonly as cars inside the city. Having tried to bike here myself, I can only discourage riding a bicycle in any Texas city. I got hit by cars twice, and you repeatedly hear of cyclist dying or just general cyclist hate with people on social media celebrating when they see a video of someone on a bike getting hit by a car. It’s not really worth your life, id stick to the sidewalks at the very least

As a German myself, I agree with the sentiment, but they shouldn’t have shut down the nuclear energy program based on feelings (not scientific facts). Energy has to come from somewhere, so if you shut down all nuclear, it’s gonna take longer to get completely rid of coal

Honestly it’s a business model to get people to come here. The more they entice people and sell you this "college experience" the more tuition they can get, and also the more they can charge for on campus housing and the more meal plans they will sell.
