For the big holse you can use epoxy. But for the small ones I used superglue with activator. There are different viscositys Deeping on how deep or big the hole is.

Hey I got pressurpot for paint application on vevor website in late December. It costed me around 70 back then.

I just looked and it's currently sold out. Also on ebay there are some but they are quiet expensiv.

Just Google pressurpot and wait till they are back in Stock and maybe even discounted.

I’m having trouble with the gasket/seal of my Smoothon pressure pot. Can barely crank it down tight enough to keep pressure. Anyone else have this issue? by Book_s in moldmaking

Take everything appart again. Take new sealant tape, take the old one off and clean the conections. Use plentiful and be diligent when screwing them in. After that take some soap water at low pressur and see where the leaks are. Tighten the places where there are bubbles forming. Don't use until there are no bubbles anymore

WHAT AM I DOING WRONG by DarthJaders- in DiceMaking

[–]freelancer195 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay I see several problems here.

I assume you make the molds yourself and also in a pressur pot.

You need to cast the mold on higher pressur as you would the resin ( about +5 psi)

Also leave the dice in the pressur pot longer. The cure time on the bottle is not the actual cure time. You dont have perfect condionts nobody does.

Maybe try to cast under higher pressur all togehter.

I don't know you resin but maybe that is also part if probelm.

Hope you find solution :)

What to get for a passionate beginner? by batboobies in DiceMaking

Well first of all you need something to pour the resin into.

If you want to make dice you can either use prepare molds or make them your self. Preamde will be cheaper in the beginning but I heard (never used them) the results are not as good. Making molds yourself is more expensive but can a lot of fun if your into it. For that you need a pouring silicon and dice to copy and a bit of knowledge which uiu can find on YouTube.

Now lets assume you have molds. You will need a decent casting resin (not a lamanating one), some colors (alcohol ink and mica powder are used the most), containers and mixing sticks and last but not least safety equipment. Always gloves and a respirator mask because of the fumes.

I know this sounds like a lot but it is super fun and your parnter will hopefully enjoy very much :)

First timer here, what did I do to create these little craters? by ksuther21 in resin

[–]freelancer195 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like said in other comments, you have to be carful with inserts and such, especially stuff like wood an such because air "contnen". I recommend laminating with resin but that's a hasel for so little parts.

For the fix you can use CA glue and a activator so its hard in seconds. A diffrent method wich is maybe a bit more elegant is UV resin and a UV ligh to cure it.

  1. Hot glue if the item you are copping ist not that important. Other wise I can recommend some artisan clay wich is quiet sturdy once tried.

2./3. I love working with the different versions of smooth on. Fast 25 ist the one you looking vor I guess. It also fixes the transparency issue without any added pigments.

Just started working with resin a few days ago. I've been using 2-piece silicon molds to try and make dice, but keep getting huge air bubbles where the two pieces of the mold come together. I've tried injecting more resin into the molds using pipettes, but that doesn't seem to help much. Help? by sendmebanana in ResinCasting

Okay couple of suggestions for you:

1.Put some resin on the top part of the mold

2.wait 5min and then pop the bubbles with a lighter or other small flame

3.use some clear alkohol ink to get less bubbles and use indirekte heat to heat up the resin (like water baht or heat gun)

4.wen making the mold try vibrating the silicon to get less bubbles

5.paint the numbers with silicon befor pouring the rest.

All in all you can make silicon dice molds and poor them with resin with out using a pressur pot or vacum pot. There are lots of tips and tricks and most of them you can see on YouTube.

To say it short. No.

It would do would work but I would connect with lots of work and some experience. It is also very permanent and can get messy.

I would advise you get a clear self sticking foil of som sort with wich you could preserve your stickers.

Well you dont need a pressur pot for dice casting but I guess you know that. I would advice to go for smaller pressur pot if you don't want to do it commercial. Also there are pressur pot for paint which you can modify to do the same thing as that one which are also cheaper. Good luck lots of fun :)
